If the ref had given him a yellow I don’t think VAR would have upgraded it to a red.

That is how I saw it. It was a definite foul but and I expected a yellow card.

He had just a done a load of closing down without support from a very lost looking Diaby and the adrenaline was pumping way too much. It was a stupid challenge and the loss of him for three games is much more of a problem than the lost three points today. It also cost us the goal difference deficit. I love him but it was a ridiculous thing to do.

Tim needs to be given a chance. Yes he's raw in a few aspects but that's the whole point of young players, you develop them by giving them decent game time.

People been slagging off Howe and Ten Hag all season but both at least have given young players like Miley and Mainoo regular starts and in very big games aswell so time for us to do that now rather than going with starting formations the players really aren't that comfortable with.

Tim got a start against a 'bang average' Ajax team midweek and was lost. To be fair to Emery, look through our bench and there aren't any hard luck stories with not being picked. Tielemans is starting because noone else is showing any bit of form.

All players have moments like this from time to time, he's no exception. But he's got an enormous amount of credit in the bank and he can now have a rest for a few weeks and be like a man possessed when he's back in the team.
