I’d agree regarding his passing but would say the same about most of our midfield.
I just think he’s not been used correctly at all this season. A high energy, attacking midfielder who does most of his best work in the final 3rd. It’s no surprise his goals tally hasn’t been great when he’s been asked to take up a mostly defensive position in midfield. If Gerrard doesn’t want him to play this role then that would be a shame as I see him as a great asset for us.

Rumours via Newsnow (i know  i know) are that there might be some weight behind him falling out with Beale and he is considered a bit of a whinger

I dont necessarily want him to be sold but i do want him to become a squad player and in the side on merit rather than his personality. He has been a cast in stone regular for 3 managers now, mainly i think because we have not had better quality, but i hope we now do going forward.

Didn't he let slip towards the end of the season SG had given him a bollocking about his diet and how he needs to improve it and stop eating shit. If memory serves it was a Q&A together with Jacob Ramsey.

As for last season, I think he came back from injury too soon, probably to make sure he didn't miss out on the important international games for Scotland. It did nobody any favours and he only started finding his real form with a few games to go. The frustrating thing is we had for the best part Sanson sitting on the bench who could have done a job but never used.

As Colhint says above, if SJM had a rest once in a while it would do us all good. Oh and not playing him out of position might help too.

No, providing he sorts himself out. There's no excuse for a player of his ability, salary, status, I hate the term 'elite' not refueling correctly. No idea if that was behind the reason of him and Beale falling out, it may not be true but he has been told by SG to stop eating junk.

He's far from the most energetic midfielder we've ever had, yet I don't recall a similar clamour for any of those others to have been given a rest.
