The worst things to see at football matches (no particular order, they're all revolting).

- four eye goal celebrations (as per SJM, although more acceptable in his case for obvious reasons)
- the making of the shape of a heart with the hands
- signs of the 'GREALISH CAN I HAVE YOUR SHIRT' type
- Bebeto style baby rocking celebrations
- That Chelsea celebration from about 25 years ago where they all arranged themselves like a group photo
- Goal music
- Anything involving ball boys waving flags after goals
- Players who are not 1. Brazilian and 2. World class having anything but their surname on the back of their shirt
- Jorginho hoppy skippy dummy style penalties
- Mike Dean

Great post.

Can I add:

Grown men responding to opposition fan chants by miming that fake orchestra conductor thing with their fingers
Our chant for Coutinho
The slowed down version of "Oh when the Saints..." that Spurs do

Can I add VAR and fans who go to away games but spend half the time in the concourse getting hammered and taking other substances.

Can I ask how you know this as I seem to spend most of my time actually watching the game?

Every now and again, I have to visit the toilet and sometimes  that's during the game.

Gives the ball away far too often.

He does and probably more than anyone else.  He does get more of the ball too because he gets himself involved and tries stuff no other midfielder dare attempt.  Even so, his surging runs from the back as exciting as they can be should be more measured.  For starters, don't attempt them so deep and with a gaping hole in defense should they not come off as happened V Wolves. Gerrard needs to instruct him to cut that sort of shit out.

McGinn is a top six player imo
He might not be playing to the top of his form at the moment, but he will play for a top six side within the next two or three years whether it will be us or not is another matter

If he leaves Villa in that time he will not be going to the likes of Southampton, Everton, Crystal Palace or even Wolves it will be for a team in the top six you mark my words

Sorry John, I expect more consistency from him if he's a top 6 player.  Starting today, that would be good.

It depends where he is asked to play. If it is as a back up to the front player(s) then he will be ok. If he is asked to do the defensive midfield role then he will be walked all over - again.

When he plays like this, he's excellent.  Given the ball away a couple of times but played well so far tonight.

He’s a player who needs to be dropped to understand the level of performance he’s putting in is consistently unacceptable.

Drop. Him. Play him in his position for Scotland or not at all. The fact that he seems undroppable really fucks me off, which is obviously not his fault.

This isn't on McGinn.

His inability to make a simple pass to a team mate is. What is he actually good at?

He had three or four bad turnovers.. and continues to open up his hips in the middle of the pitch to hit a 20yd telegraphed ball to the left and fails.

It’s costing us goals and we’re actively getting punished for it. He needs some time on the pine.
