Agree with you about being caught on the ball. But again, I also love that about his style of play - drawing contact/attention, using that plentiful arse (and occasionally some outrageous moves) to get out of trouble etc. Won’t always come off, and when it doesn’t, I want it to be further up the pitch

He was great yesterday, I think his role in the team will become more dominant.

Nice to see that statistic gone too. The one about the number of times where he's scored and we've gone on to lose.

McGinn has certain Gerrard-esque qualities about his play. Certainly his bullishness, running and an eye for goal. He's certainly got the right manager to bring his game up a level. Could be a very big season for SJM.

Wee John has flair in his game that goes unnoticed imo. He does something showboaty in most games. It makes me sit up and say, 'ooh'  8)

Today he caught the ball on his chest, flicked it over the defender while turning and won a foul.

If he keeps this form going he will be the next player we need to keep hold of.

Hopefully we are in a stronger position than we were when Joe went and we can just tell bidding clubs to do one. Doubt there'd be a release clause in John's contract but who knows.

I see he has matched his total of goals of last season already after 12 games  . A player of SJM quality should be getting on towards ten goals in a season and I think with SG playing him where he should he could hit ten this season.   26 games to go John boy .

Amazing what happens when you play somebody in their best position eh? He is not, never was, and won't ever be a defensive midfielder.

Meatball is in great form, I hope he keeps it up and doesn't just keep his place cos he's a good lad with a big bum as previously.

I think this is perfect manager for this stage of his career. Strange how DS knew how to use him for pretty much the first year of his tenure and then tried to change him into more deeper lying midfielder.

Of course he can do a job there with his energy but he's better popping up on edge of the box and getting shots away so all for him being most advanced midfielder if the system allows it.

I said when he was appointed Gerrard would've heard all about how good he was from Rangers players called up by Scotland and he said exactly that yesterday.

I wonder with Gerrard's vague-ish comments on Mings keeping the captains armband whether he's thinking of giving it to McGinn perhaps for next season.
