It’s a shame that his two superb goals this have been overshadowed by terrible defeats.

The one real positive from Saturday, I thought he looked absolutely back to his best, our MOTM by a country mile.

I think the commentator Saturday said that 6 of his last 7 goals we've been on the losing side. As he had just put us 2-0 up, I stupidly thought 'well that won't be the case today then'.

The worry for me is if we don't shape up over the next couple of months, he'll be a January target for other clubs (Manure?).  We're particularly vulnerable on the 'loyalty' issue because of Joe's Villa 'credentials' not stopping him take the narrow road to the deep north.  So our better players know it would be humbug on the club's part to play the Villa heritage/potential card.

Gone from very good last week to detritus this week. Not the first time this has happened.

He can't do it all by himself though. It's not a 3-5-2 when our wing backs are pinned in our own half the entire match.

One of his worst performances for us. But then he wasn’t alone

Being forced into doing everything in the middle and as a result doing nothing much. Needs some help.

I still don't rate either McGinn or Luiz as top 10 centre mids.

Blaming McGinn for today's debacle is way off. Dennis Mortimer or Gordon Cowans at their prime would have struggled in that set up.

Smith would have had them playing centre-half.

He has been brilliant for us, but I would tell him to stay out of our penalty box. He can't defend and often gets in the way. In fact, stay out of the defensive third.

Like most of the team tonight he just looked like he'd been given instructions for a completely different game to the one we played. I put all of the poor performances tonight down to tactics more than individuals. You don't get dismantled to the degree we did in the first half because a few players are having an off day.

When he gives a sloppy pass way, he doesn't half do it in dangerous positions though. He's a bit like Mings in that his errors often lead directly to goals.
