I think that's total bollocks, tbh.

Absolutely. Anyone who thinks Hutton's the main reason for our demise either has a really short memory or hasn't been to many matches at all over the past decade.
That's bollocks and if you can't see it I reckon you've been watching matches with rose coloured filters.

You're in the minority here. Quit while you're behind.

The fact that a player as limited as Hutton has been one of our better performers over the last few years tells you a lot about the state we're in. However, that's not remotely the same as saying he's culpable for our demise and endemic of all our problems, which is clearly bollocks.

I thought Hutton was shit in the first half, Reach had him on toast. Second half he was a little better but still got done a few times and, as always, he makes us far too narrow because he can't offer an overlap on the left. That's not entirely his fault but I really don't see the point of giving him a new contract for him to be a specialist left back.

I agree that he made a brilliant interception but he needs to offer much more than throwing himself in the way of a shot every now and then.

His goal has been on all the main news sites over here (even though La Repubblica referred to as The Hammers...). I've had quite a few people writing to me to mention it.

I saw it being discussed here, but can't find it now, but for me it was better than the Lowton strike. He was hitting more or less through the line of the ball, while McGinn was hitting across it. Positioning and timing was everything. Had he not struck it perfectly, it would have ended up on Witton Lane.

Plus, bouncing it into the roof of the net, having struck the bar, is always a bit special!

It’s terribly sad that the goal ultimately meant nothing, when it should have been the catalyst to drive us onto a result.

I like him, puts himself about but not a great combination with Conor as they are both too left footed - I'd like to see him and Grealish just in front of Jedi or Barney who seems to have been forgotten about.
Don't get me wrong I like him too.  But other than the goal he had a stinker yesterday.
Nah, not that bad.
Not great, but not bad.
For stinkers, see Adomah, Hutton, Elmo, Kodjia. Even Chester was a flake yesterday.

Hutton was okay, and made possibly the best interception I've ever seen at Villa Park to prevent a certain goal.
Hutton was poor, despite the excellent saving tackle in the second half.

And over here.  It made the ESPN sports center top 10 plays (for any sport, not just football).
