We might pick up the phone at £65m any less and the pricks can fuck off.

Obviously it has to be a football decision but it would be a big help on the FFP front given he only cost £2.25m.

Anyway, he's being linked with ManUre again.

Seen he's been linked with a summer move, probably bullshit as Manure don't even know who their manager will be yet.

Apparently, old whiskey face rates him very highly and as we know he is still very influential at Manure.

If we were to consider a transfer then it would have to be silly money. If they paid 50+ million for Wan-Bissaka, then meatball has got to be in the 60 + million bracket.

They paid £80 million for Maguire - at that rate, I'd expect nothing less that £60+billion.

Much as I like the guy, he's been a great servant to the club, but it might actually make sense to let him go for the right price in the Summer.

He was in St Pauls House in the Jewellery Quarter on Saturday night with Cafu (Scottish variety). He's not going to leave the fleshpots of the JQ anytime soon...

To be fair, I don't think he'll go in the summer and I don't want him to go in the summer, but every player has his price.  Invested properly, if we sell every player for their peak value, as I believe we did with Grealish, we'll be a better team for it in the long run.

If Newton Heath are desperate and offer silly money (I'm talking Harry Maguire-style silly money) then I think we'd be better off letting him go.  Plenty on the Sanson thread are already saying they'd prefer Sanson in the team ahead of SJM and you'd get a lot of Sansons for £80m!

If Gerrard actually thinks he can make him an even better player, then tell them to sod off.  Man United always overpay and I see no reason to suggest they wouldn't do the same for SJM. If, and it is a big IF, we don't think he can get any better.  60 mill please.

The first sign that maybe just maybe we are on the verge of creating a team to compete at the top end of the league, we have people start auctioning our first team players off.
Bizarre.

It's ok, he hasn't actually been sold.

Thank fuck that the Football manager types are not in charge of transfer policy in the real world.

Or that people aren't allowed an opinion on a football message board without other people getting bent out of shape!  Who said SJM is good enough to get us there? This is what people are debating.

I'd sell him for £60m. There are better players out there for that sort of money.

I have always liked John McGinn but he has been really really inconsistent this season. I agree with you Risso, 60 mil is a lot of money for someone that inconsistent.
