Seems to be taking an unnecessary touch too often of late, although he wasn't alone with that in Saturday.

When marking him, opponents have learnt to keep a meter distance from McGinn.

Previously, they marked tighter, John would stoop, poke out his arse, push the opponent away and swivel quickly.

Now when he pokes out his arse he is only hitting fresh air.

To adapt, he probably needs a few more touches of the ball.  :)

Or grow a bigger arse.

Could be dangerous with VAR.  :)

Not passing the ball directly to the opposition right outside our penalty area would also help.  He was guilty of that several times on Saturday.

Yes, although I was also going mad as every time Brighton aimed a long ball forward we happily nodded the bloody ball back to them.

This is probably sacrilege, but if we finish top 10 then the next step of moving towards top 6 would probably need a better central midfielder than McGinn.

He needs to learn new tricks. He always plays for a foul, needs to get stronger and move some of his arse muscles to his upper body.

I agree. Love the guy, he absolutely belongs in a top 6 midfield.

He doesn't. He's midtable to bottom half at best.

McGinn has been a brilliant bargain for us and is a good player but he's doesn't have the attributes or consistency for top 6.

People seem to think the top six is made up exclusively of Galacticos. There are plenty of far worse players than McGinn at, for instance, Man U.

You get solid players like McGinn, who can produce moments of brilliance to accompany their all round endeavours, and supplement them with megastars.

We have one already in Grealish, I can see us adding another one or two this summer and they will love having someone like McGinn in the squad doing the dirty work for them.
