There are mitigating factors to McGinns poor form not least the defensive midfielder bit but as much as I love him is he a regular starter in a top 6 Premier League team? I think he's most at risk from any major midfield spending this summer. However that's a discussion for the summer, how do we get the best out of him now. I like the 2 x 8s theory being banded about elsewhere with Doug sitting as a number 6.
He's got 1 league goal in something like 40 games now, being the defensive midfielder definitely doesn't suit his natural game.

I thought he looked quite resilient under pressure in possession, he just seemed quick to join in with the mode du jour of giving the ball back with a shoddy pass after doing the hard bit. I'm blaming the blue shorts, they're as cursed as claret socks.
Needs dropping.
