How has he let himself get into that state?  Watched this in a bar in Northampton this evening, and loads of people commented on how lardy he looks.  Unacceptable.

He broke a bone, it's a bit tricky to be up to this standard, playing every 2 or 3 days when you've had months out following a broken bone.

There's no reason WHATSOEVER for him to be overweight.  I'm not talking about the quality of his play, even though that's shit.  But he's got a paunch on him and rolls of fat on his back.  That is not acceptable, at all.

He has 6 games under his belt now so how many more? He’s been utterly unprofessional in allowing himself to get totally wasted and what’s more he doesn’t look bothered.

It makes you wonder. Presumably our fitness staff never went within a mile of the players, while the likes of Spurs and chelsea were still making them train on the quiet until they were caught out by the media. And if you think they were the only ones doing it..........

I'm less fat than McGinn and I went into lockdown not a professional footballer and weighing 16 stone.

Dunno. I know loads of people who have put on loads in lockdown and they're not chubbies normally. I was 2 stone overweight for my height and i've gone down 3 trouser sizes. Lockdown has really messed with people's metabalism

He returned to training before lockdown, nearly a month ago people were saying he looked 'cuddly' shall we say, and he still looks overweight.

I'd be playing Drinkwater instead of him.  I'd be playing Mark Kinsella instead of him.

What about your grandma? Go on, say it...

You make a good point. But, when people earn more in a week than I earn in a year to play a sport that I love I damn well expect them to keep fit and in shape.

Hopefully no-one wants to sign him and we benefit from a fit SJM for the Championship. If...

yeah. still if you love the gym  and you keep your weight down by the gym rather than running 10 miles every day, its a bit of a change to your lifestyle. Doesn't excuse the fact that someone at the club should have been monitoring his weight.

Anyone remember that Mings/Grealish inst post they made in Dubai in January with a fat SJM figure next to them in trunks.  Turns out they weren't lying.

Really surprised and disappointed. I knew he'd had an injury so needed to get sharp again but I expected better than this.
