Bottom line. Is it good news?
It is hard to see it as bad news, as mentioned above the potential issue is in the long term and what type of owners we could have (Wes and Nas won’t be around for ever), also the more owners the greater potential for conflict. What it does say is that we have some serious backers but at some point they will look for a return on their investment.

I assume he means if we had this ownership before the ladder on spending was pulled up behind the clubs already up there.

I remember a a kid having an argument with a mate that if I had infinite money I could assemble whatever team I liked. The ultimate dream team. The entire Brazil team for instance (they were good back then). He disagreed. I said I’d pay each player a billion dollars (that was a lot back then too). He wouldn’t budge.

After all these years, he’s finally right. I’d be flogging off my youth team to buy bargains from Europe’s less fashionable leagues.
