Getting better, but blimey - less than half the commercial income of Newcastle and less than one-sixth that of Spurs.

That should be a lot better ‘as it stands’, with Adidas, Betanu and Champions League on this year’s accounts.

Newcastle have a somewhat questionably lucrative shirt sponsorship deal with a Saudi company too.

Heck will get a good grade on his end of year review when he sits down with the owners.

To be fair, he’s doing what they asked him to do.

This years accounts will also be off the chart on account of us winning the FA Cup and the Champions League.

Commercial is the obvious issue and should improve. Stadium naming rights incoming I reckon.

It's stadium capacity too according to those 'money league' (puke) stats.  Its' obvious that we need a bigger, more profitable match day income.

I'd imagine so, aside from capacity they will attract far more "daytripper" fans who will visit as part of a trip to the Capital buy food and drink and visit the club shop. They are the sort of people Heck and the owners would prefer at Villa Park rather than the likes of me who does nothing like it and if I do buy a pint I grimace at every mouthfull....

Those commercial figures are shocking by comparison of every other club on the list. Brand “Aston Villa” needs a real marketing push. Match day is what it is. Far from being happy I suspect Heck may be a little worried.

sadly Birmingham does not attract the Tourist $ like London.
So good luck with that Mr Heck.

Where is the line between "matchday" and "commercial"? I.e. where does food and drink fit in, is it different when it's inclusive?

We had 8 European full houses last year which must have helped.
