31% to be accurate. You have to wonder what the long-term plan is. Are they looking to be majority shareholders?

2 scenarios for me:

They are investment partners with a longer term view on growing businesses so maybe don’t want to be front and centre and happy to sit with a significant stake. It should be noted their parent company is Comcast who also own Sky so maybe there’s an element of wanting to be invested in a significant player with a “share” in the PL and are happy to provide the financing for continued growth of V Sports either operationally or infrastructure related predominantly through the Villa.

Or

They have invested as Sawiris and Edens are looking for an exit strategy in the longer term and want to be fully conversant with the business before that happens.

I think the first scenario is the more likely but who knows how these billionaires and investment Johnnies think.

The issue with the poll is that of the two leading candidates so far, one is doable and the other isn't. The North Stand is our property and whilst it poses logistical  problems, it's at least viable.

Building a new stadium in the city centre absolutely isn't and it will never happen. For a multitude of reasons.

The first one makes more sense - if you’re looking for a mid term exit strategy why sell so many share when it’s cheap.  I would think it’s more about a partner to provide capital and expertises beyond what they have / can allocate to it

If we are sufficiently constrained by PSR that we almost infringed it last window, I wonder what this capital is getting used for.

They’re new shares I believe. So that would make it a fresh investment.
Someone on here posted an extract of the share-movements document which showed that Nas and Wes had reduced their shareholding to allow for Atairos to increase theirs. So, it looks oike no new shares issue.

I disagree that the new stadium option "will never happen".

If you issue new shares in something to someone else, that’s going to result in your share as a percentage falling.

as Wes and Nas owned all the shares, that would have to happen either way, through selling theirs or by default as a result of new shares being issued.

I don't know what their endgame is, but I do know what the main priority for two billionaires and a multi-national conglomerate will be.

And that is to set up a charity that will invest in the human aspect of one of the less socially mobile areas of the UK and give the locals the opportunity, means and support to take pride in themselves and their community via the benevolent means of the identity forged through the successful local football club, right? ….. right?!?

I was referring to their absolute share-ownership, not their proportion. Anyway, I'd have to revisit the extract posted earlier ...

A new stadium in the city centre? Where? Birmingham has a tiny city centre and that is taken up by retail outlets and expensive real estate. The cost, if you could even get planning permission, to build in the centre would be astronomical and totally unviable financially.

I doubt we will ever move from Villa Park but it's certainly possible. However, if we do move one day, it won't be to the city centre. There's just no space, never mind "cost efficient" space.

Birmingham's city centre is huge. Miles bigger than Manchester, Newcastle, Leeds etc.
