There isn't enough land round the NEC, there's no infrastructure except Resorts World, which I doubt can cater for 50,000 people in three hours  and take a look at the access roads onto the M42 whenever there's a show there.

Exactly. Anyone who's ever been to a show there especially Crufts would know there's no way the infrastructure round there could cope with a 50/60k arena. It's usually gridlocked and the trains are very often overcrowded when they pull into International as it's the main Birmingham to Euston line.

I used to commute past that junction every day, a car changing a tyre can cause a 10 mile tailback and 40 minute delays, even with no obstacles on a clear day it's a shit fest.

I can confirm that Birmingham International station was absolute chaos on Wednesday morning when New Street had no trains coming in or out of it for 1 hour, it would never cope with 60-70k people leaving a football stadium.

Also, aside from the logistics, why would the NEC Group allow a completely separate business build a stadium on it's land that would effectively render it's own venues virtually useless?

That's good to know then Dave as I wouldn't want us to move to the NEC at all, but just a feeling that it could be a potential site if they are looking for one.
