Sad to see schoolmates like Perce and Badders fall-out over grammar. Surely it wernt like this in '86!

No, gangs are dividing along grammar lines all over east Birmingham to this day.

There isn't enough land round the NEC, there's no infrastructure except Resorts World, which I doubt can cater for 50,000 people in three hours  and take a look at the access roads onto the M42 whenever there's a show there.

True. I've had run-ins with the Tysley Transitives and the Mad Mental Appositives of Hodge Hill in my time. Tasty firms.

Exactly. Anyone who's ever been to a show there especially Crufts would know there's no way the infrastructure round there could cope with a 50/60k arena. It's usually gridlocked and the trains are very often overcrowded when they pull into International as it's the main Birmingham to Euston line.

I used to commute past that junction every day, a car changing a tyre can cause a 10 mile tailback and 40 minute delays, even with no obstacles on a clear day it's a shit fest.

I can confirm that Birmingham International station was absolute chaos on Wednesday morning when New Street had no trains coming in or out of it for 1 hour, it would never cope with 60-70k people leaving a football stadium.

Also, aside from the logistics, why would the NEC Group allow a completely separate business build a stadium on it's land that would effectively render it's own venues virtually useless?

The trouble is that people look on Google maps, see a load of green and think "Football ground".

So all in all I think we've narrowed it down to two options. The land on Avenue Rd/Windsor St or my own personal preference which is stay where we are and redevelop the shit out of Aston and expand to something like a 55/60k stadium.

Same here. One day the Villa Chippy will have a Michelin Star.

So long as they still do the Doner kebabs I'll have a bit of that.

That's good to know then Dave as I wouldn't want us to move to the NEC at all, but just a feeling that it could be a potential site if they are looking for one.

Because there MUST be some land there that the city council owns.

I heard that they'd been arrested and been given a long sentence.
