Lets be honest, 12 months ago we'd have lost that. They pushed and harried us in the first half and some of the younger players (Davis & Onomah) need to learn how to stand up to it, but even with the players we have out they didnt really create many chances. I know many dont rate him but i thought Elphick wouldve been a better choice than Samba, bit meaner.

I also dont get Hourihane at the moment, he seems to have tunred into the new barry bannan, all pointing and sideways passes, thought he was supposed to be a creative midfielder? Let whelan do the holding role, we dont need 2.

Still we won 2nd half and attacking subs made the difference - like having 2 new signings. Grealish touch was real quality and Landsbury always looked forward - more of the same please.

So lots of key players out, goal down, getting bullied and we come away with a point - lets not underestimate what that means to the team, they will feel good about it and so they should

...how can their 2 beefy CB be so prone to falling over whenever David got near them?
Who?
Davis

Can't believe people writing off Davis! Ffs he's only 19! He shouldn't be playing at the moment, but Bruce simply can't rest him - there's no one else! I think he'll be great in 2 years time.
Precisely.
He’s a rookie being asked to lead the line, pretty much on his own.

Sure, the goals aren’t coming, but bloody hell, let’s support a kid trying to do a mans job and making a fecking good show of it.

Agree Andy.  Like with any young player finding his way, there are going to be ups and downs.  That's why we desperately need another option up there, so Davis can be rotated when needs be.

Onomah is not a liability.

He isn't Paul, but I just don't think he is suited to the advanced role where he is currently being played.  I think he would be better off in a deeper role, with Grealish or O'Hare just in behind Davis.

The two subs we made turned the game for us. Grealish’s control, running and bringing others into the game is what we were crying out for. Lansbury, for the first time since we’ve had him showed he can play football. If he can keep it up he’ll keep Hourihane out of the side. Overall we were poor first half and found it hard to cope with Leed’s slick passing and movement, they looked very good. 2d half was much better and we might have even stole a victory but the draw was a fair result.

I haven't seen much, if any, writing Davis off on this thread. Just folks saying he didn't play well last night and probably needs a rest now and again but we don't have much in the way of other options.

In the end happy with a point after the 1st half non display. Obviously a concern is, who is gonna get the goals, other than Albert, but another big concern last night and for most of the season, is the lack of quality crossing, the Leeds defence did not have to deal with one decent ball into the area all night.

Credit to the Scottish Cafu, as I understand he helped out at the World Cup draw, before flying back in time for the kick off, a great effort!

I'd have Onomah in the holding role, where I think he plays for England under 21's. Get him alongside Whelen and let Hourihane roam, with Grealish off Davis.

Two points further behind top 2.

Never mind. Ignoring the first three games of the season, the losses against Wolves and Sheffield Wednesday, and the times we've drawn, we right up there with the best of them.

Or something like that. 😉

I’d like to see how wolves Brazil would cope without three of their best players for a lengthy period of time.  Fcukin negativity does my head in.

The shit football does it for me. That and the acceptance of us being shit. Saying that, tonight was the first time in a long time I've really screamed out so loud when we've scored.

I got excited as well. Left a skid mark on our carpet when I did a type of knee slide. Apparently its a rubber mark off my slippers. Wife is scrubbing said cream carpet as we speak. She isnt happy

Hourihane is forced to play this way because we have two wingers and Onamah being the attacking threat. In my view thats a waste and if Jedinak were fit he would play instead and push Hourihane further forward

I reckon Grealish coming back in will be a huge help to Davis. Both of them draw players in, and have decent movement. Hopefully we’ll see things develop as they both get decent run in the team.

For what my opinion is worth (!): Thought we were only poor for about the last 15 minutes of the first half. The rest of the first half was not as bad as some made out. The second half was a lot better from the kick off, both teams looked a lot better with the ball in the opponents half. Bruce made the right call and we could have won the game, ref was not great and helped to slow the game down and encourage more fouling tactics. Fans were as good as ever. Whelan surprised me again with how he managed to influence defence and attack. I thought samba was pretty good overall-and having watched the Leeds goal a few times, Although Samba should have got goal side, I am convinced the real error was that the space in front of him was completely vacated by the rest of the defence and left a huge gap to run into.
All in all, this is an improvement on last year and getting closer to what we need, although we will have to keep improving to the end of the season.

I am happy with a point away to At Least We Are Not Leeds. As long as we fucking annihilate Millwall.
