Can someone who saw the game please enlighten me as to what the actual formation was?! Did De Laet play centre-back with Elphick?

He did 1st half, Bree played right back.  They swapped in the second.

Agree with all the sentiments above but the vibe that came from Hogan to Holte was that he was making .a point. Two goals against Wigan is a start.  Long may it continue. It has been a long time coming.  I can live with looking at the backs of goal scorers.

Cheers Brian, I just thought he wasn't very enthusiastic scoring in front of the Holte for the first time and just wondered what was the cause of this, if any.
 I agree with other posters, back in the day, after the centre forward scored, he shook hands with his colleagues on the way back to the centre circle and got on with it !

Just took a look at his goals for Brentford last season.  He didn't celebrate them really either.  Maybe that's his way.

It looks like we are starting to see the benefits of the club strategy of playing the same or similar system at all levels. That is two games now with totally different sets of players and yet they have looked comfortable in both. Early days of course but it bodes well. Eight goals, the team looking confident and fans with smiles on their face it. More of this,  please.

Perhaps he's just a modest kind of an individual.  Without starting a who's the most modest celebrant thread, IIR, Darius Vassell could never be accused of going OTT.

I do wonder what hogan and mccormack would do as a front two. Both clever forwards, are they too similar?

They are pretty different as Hogan plays on the shoulder of defenders, whereas McCormack drops off more.  Might work together in that respect.

When you're complaining about how people celebrate goals then there can't be much else to worry about.  It was a quiet atmosphere and he's in the b team.  He's hardly going to be doing cartwheels.

It was more about their height and the fact the rely on a footballing team around them, rather than a more direct game. That said, I think McCormack will be off very soon.

Anything that encourages someone to buy McCormack is good news, he's burnt his bridges here for me, been completely out of order. If we can get back half of what we paid then do it.
