Aston Villa -v- Hull City: Pre-Match Thread
« on: July 31, 2017, 08:54:41 AM »
With injuries to Kodjia, Adomah and Grealish, I wouldn't be surprised to see an attacking player or two to arrive before the window closes.

We must get off to a strong start and I'd go with;

Johnstone

Taylor
Terry
Chester
Bree

Whelan
Lansbury
Hourihane

Elmo
Green
Hogan

Hourihane playing a lot higher up the pitch and the wide men getting close to Hogan.

2-0 Villa. Moderators, a poll if you please.

Has Bree played much in preseason? I reckon we'll start with Hutton. Pretty please get at least one attacking player in before next week and I'll feel a lot more confident.

0-0 for me too.  It will be Hogan and Gabby up front.  Lots of running about.

1-1 draw (Villa to be leading at HT. Hull to equalise late on).

A dour 1-0 win. The first of many such results in the season ahead.

0-0. The usual start of season optimism that usually fades by the end of September didn't materialise for me at all this year.

I agree .1-0 and not the last win by that scoreline this season.

Hope he lines up like that...although I'd stick Amavi in for Taylor. But I think he'll start Hutton and I've got a horrible feeling he'll start Gabby.
Really hope he goes two up top once Kodija is back..won't be holding my breath though.
1-1

0-0. We're more solid defensively but without Kodjia I didn't see anything in the friendlies (I know) to indicate where the goals will come from. By the way - for those like me who normally go M5/M6/Expressway travel's likely to be a pain - roadworks on the M5 between Jnc 1&2 and the Expressway will be shut.
