Seem to have had a lot better opponents than us pre season which will surely help them ? Our schedule now looks very light by comparison.

We really should be beating these as they have gone through a bit of turmoil. Just wonder how we will create chances. Think we may sneak a 1-0 through a set piece.

A cautious 1-1.

Anyone got a link to a few of Hull's pre season games as I genuinely have no idea who's still there from end of last season and the make up of their squad so would like to have a check at what might be their likely line up.

They've drawn against Ajax 3-3, Nantes 0-0 and beat Benfica 1-0 in their last 3.

Blimey, thats quite impressive

Not sure how much you can read into that. Our season is starting particularly early so teams should be further along in their preparation.

2-0. Not pulsating or anything to set the pulse racing. But we'll keep it tight and score a couple against a poor Hull side.

Here it is on the correct thread SHQ!

Hull City: McGregor, Lenihan (Clark 46), Aina, Dawson (Mazuch 72), Hector, Stewart (Olley 68), Clucas (Batty 65), Henriksen, Bowen, Campbell (Weir), Hernández (Diomande).
Subs Not Used: Andrew, Clackstone, Luer.

Team for Ajax was:

McGregor, Michael Hector (on loan from Chelsea), Dawson, Aina (on loan from Chelsea), Stewart (signed for 8m from Liverpool), Clucas (surprised a lower end prem team hasn't come in yet), Bowen, Lenihan, Henriksen, Abel Hernandez, Frazier Campbell (shite).

Didn't realise Abel Hernandez was still there. Thought he was out of contract given we were strongly linked with him a year ago. He's a very good striker at this level if motivated.

Can't say the rest of that is anything to seriously worry about. Would be very surprised if they made top 6.

A 2-0 win. Elmo (if he's fit) and Hogan with our goals.

With injuries to Kodjia, Adomah and Grealish, I wouldn't be surprised to see an attacking player or two to arrive before the window closes.

We must get off to a strong start and I'd go with;

Johnstone

Taylor
Terry
Chester
Bree

Whelan
Lansbury
Hourihane

Elmo
Green
Hogan

Hourihane playing a lot higher up the pitch and the wide men getting close to Hogan.

2-0 Villa. Moderators, a poll if you please.

I'd go along with most of that but Hutton for Bree and Barney for Lansbury.

4-0 Villa win. It will be the easiest game of the season against a Hull team that don't know if they are coming or going.

Won't be easy and they do have quality in midfield and attack - thigh I think grosicki is linked with a move away

But I only recognised Dawson amongst those defenders. Which is why I think we may be better off going with gabby and hogan and running in behind
