Does anyone know if the club shops up and running yet and if any kit will on sale there Saturday?

Thanks

Someone posted on Facebook a couple of days ago that it's still shut but is going to be open on Saturday but the club couldn't say what time it would open.

Thanks, I called the number on the website and the person I spoke to obviously had no affiliation to Villa and was as much use as a chocolate teapot.

I should add that they were told the new kit will be on sale as well.

I know they're only minor gripes but it does piss me off that no one knows when they're getting their season tickets, no one knows when the club shop will be open, the pre season friendlies have been hit and miss and a bit shambolic. I'm pessimistic with Villa and these things play on my mind, we still seem all at sea and constantly hoping everything will just turn out all right again.

Well on the back of the ticket office shambles, having the club shop shut for the only home pre season friendly at kit launch time wouldn't be any surprise whatsoever.

Let's be totally honest, there are an increasing number of things going on at the moment which don't exactly smell of professionalism, aren't there?

The Hull tickets saga is an absolute fucking fiasco.

Is the club shop due to open at the end of the month? Went down there last week and was surprised to see just a small portacabin selling a small amount of merchandise. I'd imagine sales for shirts and merchandise will be well down on normal considering even the online shop doesn't have a wide selection of merchandise.

Who have we replaced her with? Our usual trick of someone with no experience of the field?

To be fair, I've managed to cope with Villa for a number of years with simple access to a piss up!

I assume that with whatever is the Canadian equivalent of a Kodi Box, you can get all our games on Sky, and our occasional cup games on other channels.

You can't expect to get games that aren't being televised... anywhere.

Except the Villa film and broadcast every single match inside Villa Park.  It can't be beyond the wit of man to work out a way to stick that steam on the internet for overseas fans to pay to watch. If Sky aren't showing it they shouldn't give a fuck and AVTV demonstrated the technical capability years ago.

I can see the problem right away. They pay a fortune for the rights - they get exclusivity. If they aren't showing it, they ain't gonna let anyone else show it.

Who says they've got exclusivity? And in any event, haven't they bought the UK broadcast rights?

Maybe this is the sort of thing TV was on about - the Premier League are a canny bunch and worked out how you segment the packages to make the best use of them. Maybe that's where the Football League are going wrong. Football didn't fundamentally change in 1992 - how it was marketed did.

So the club are broadcasting live outside the UK all games which haven't been chosen for broadcast by Sky - https://www.avfc.co.uk/News/2017/07/28/park-life-avtv-live-announced-new-store-to-launch-programme-details-confirmed

£110 for 20-25 games - a fiver a game - seems a reasonable sum.
