Eric Black on WM.
"the supporters pay their money, they're entitled to their opinion.
"I made my decisions based on 35 years of experience in the game".

See, there it is.  "I've been involved in the game for 35 years and the fans haven't, so they know nothing".  Had obviously hasn't learnt too much in 35 years if he thinks the sides he has put out over the past few weeks are acceptable.

Wanted to make a mention for Toner who came on.  Looked a little on the slow side, but seems to have so he'll if a left foot.  He hit some great balls with it in the second half.

i heard blacks comments driving home and nearly crashed

what he has learnt in 35 years could be written on a the back of a stamp in marker pen
having lescott as captain tells you everything you need to know about black

Well apparently after 35 years in the game Eric knows best so his decisions were all correct and we are deluded fools with little or no intellect.

Oh come on.  The man was assistant to Steve Kean at Blackburn.  You couldn't buy that sort of footballing education, learning from one of the all time greats.

Another wasted Saturday. Of the six of us with season tickets only three turned up yesterday. One cleared off at half time and me and my son went after their third.

A mate of mine couldn't be bothered to go either, he preferred to do some jobs round the house and can't say I could blame him though although he did miss out on some very good paper plane flying.

Yes, the planes were good. One landed on my brother, he picked it up and chucked it again only for it to loop the loop and come straight back to him.

I threw one which pathetically travelled two rows down, took a sharp right turn and flew past three blokes faces much to the amusement of the people behind me.

I stood on the Holte with my brother and his son, chatting about this and that, watching the paper planes fly overhead and occasionally glancing down at the pitch. This was supposed to be a football match. Where was the tension, the drama, the excitement - all the elements that made the semi-final against Liverpool, just one year ago, so memorable? Above all, where was the desire and commitment of our players? I find our decline depressing beyond words.

I thought the standard of plane was much better with more success at reaching the playing surface yesterday.

At the Bournmouth game somebody professed to being a design engineer near to us. He crafted a plane with vents(!) only to see it drop at his feet when he attempted to fly it.

He didn't turn up yesterday....

Fair play to the Saints fans who were giving it the Lerner song with us and clapping us when we sang it in the witton, holding up the "proud history" banners on 74 as well - good stuff folks.

I would have thought Richards could afford more salubrious lodgings.

Bacuna fucked up for their second but  I am not impressed with Lescott's running with no weight on his shoulders!

Until his, 'Moment' I actually thought Bacuna was doing ok.
I thought he should have been substituted at half time, but, even in the second half he was ok. The booing noticeably died down for him as the second half progressed.

Well done to everyone who went yesterday. You are a better supporter than I am, and I salute you.

I am a much worse than yow.

I crossed the city to the dark side where trees are scarce and stayed in the pub when the team was announced.
