Well this impending appointment answers one question I had last month after the end of the season. Which was did TS have the right people in the right back room jobs? It is now clear he did not think so and has taken action to rectify the issue.

When Robson injured his shoulder, too.And as John says, we were much better without either of them. especially Robson

I wonder if anybody can boast more? That was a great advert. I've just looked it up on Wikipedia and it only aired ten times. You forgot arguably the most objectionable of them all. Chelsea. No, he didn't

Chelsea. No, he didn'tHe did Richard, he started his career at Chelsea, though he was known as Butch in those distant days.I never rated him that highly as a player but I do recall him saying something to the extent that the ref should hav been lenient on Hendrie when he was sent off for two yellow cards on his debut at QPR He seemed genuine when he said it, which is why I recall it.
My abiding memory of Wilkins as a player, other than his negative passing, was when he was playing for England. I think it was away to Saudi Arabia, the ball goes out of play for an England throw in, Wilkins runs over to take it and screams at the ballboy, "Give me that facking ball". My mother was not impressed.
