I would say it is another sign new owner or owners are coming in and that the managers job is safe in the medium term. He might be a good coach but we need decent players for him to work with.
Or Randy is staying put.

Exactly. I would only say it'a a sign of new owners coming in if they lack ambition.

Underwhelmed TBH.

Explain how you are 'underwhelmed'? We've hired a highly rated and respected assistant manager who worked under Ancellotti and Hiddink with great success.

The backroom staff could make a midfield of Cowans-Sherwood-Wilkins.

All well and good, but he has also coached at Fulham and was sacked.

I am not saying he is a bad coach but it is about the players. Unless we invest in players that are better than those we currently have what realistically is going to change?

I've always thought Wilkins was a boring twat,

Kept Mortimer out of the England team by playing sideways danger free football, I remember one World Cup he went too, best thing that happened was he got injured/sent off can't remember which, but as soon as he was out of the team England started playing better
Most overrated footballer of all times

as a pundit he never says anything of interest, boring brown noseing rubbish mostly, he is a proper middle lane driver to scared to upset anyone, he's always 'delighted' with stuff, and playing more straight bats than Boycot
He bores me to tears

His time in management had been a total disaster area, I think he's a better coach,

Apart from that he might be OK as a sidekick to Sherwood and K Mac

Decent move for me. Well liked and respected coach to add to the team. There was precious little coaching done under Lambert.

'86, I think. When Robson injured his shoulder, too.

Not my cup if tea, but I'd give anyone a chance after what we have put up with over the past three or four seasons.
My only immediate questions mark would be about his hunger and desire at this age and that this is not another PR stunt like the hiring of Keane.

Decent appointment in my eyes. He's the final piece of the backroom jigsaw now to focus on getting some quality, hungry players who will be proud to wear the claret & blue shirt!

Really can't understand those that aren't happy!

Good appointment as long as it is not at K-Mac's expense.

He looks like Baron Greenback to me...

My immediate concern is we've just got the lads to actually start passing the ball forwards a bit more and now in comes the CEO of square balls.
I hope this isn't a detrimental move.
Also some of his post match interviews make my skin crawl.
