Awful and embarrasssing. We left at half time with many other Villa fans.

So that's three-and-a-half times you've seen the Villa this season, Richard. I'd stick to Saturday afternoon shopping in Chichester with your wife and daughters if I were you.

...or watching rugby.

The rugby is a good shout - the Premiership has been far and away more exciting than the Premier League this season - but not the shopping. Tending my lovely garden would have been the other option. As it was, we went back to Yates and watched it on the TV until the sixth went in and then sprinted for the train to avoid having to take the mockery from their fans.

However, yesterday, I decided as TS has bought all my enthusiasm back with his brand of football, I'm now the proud owner of a 2015/16 season ticket and, excited our prospects for next season.

UTV!!
Welcome skerra and well done for  buying the season ticket but don't be fickle supporting the Villa is not for pleasure but mostly pain😂

Astonishing to think we can have 65% possession and get thumped 6-1. Just highlights how awful our defending was. I am hoping it was because of injuries and a bad day. My worry is that Koeman completely outfoxed Tim and Wenger will have observed carefully

Those first three goals and the manner in which we conceded probably made Southampton look better than they were. I mean we put it on a plate for them. After that they cruised and picked us off. I think had we gone 1-0 you would not have seen a Southampton playing with such freedom. I think we made it easy for them to get up to top gear because lets face it they've been poor for months now. Vlaar and to a lesser extent Okore just fell totally apart and gave the opposition an almighty confidence boost. We were unlucky in a few ricochets with the goals. Given saves, it hits Hutton and goes into the path of Mane. Vlaars backpass for another was just utterly horrendous.

In the space of 3 minutes you find yourself 3-0 down. The players never recovered and the defence looked edgy all game.

It was a bit of both. Mostly individuals but we've been getting lucky with that offside trap for a while. We can't do that against arsenal. I doubt they'll play as much into the channels but they could cause us massive problems with runners from midfield

If Okore wasn't fit (as Tim Sherwood has suggested)why did he not play Senderos with Vlaar. They were a very decent combination at the beginning of the season. Ron Vlaar, unfortunately, has done this before as we all know but in the final he will more than likely turn it on again.

Just awful but might work in our favour if Wenger or his players now think they are in for an easy ride come May 30th.

Tim's Burnley selection could be very crucial and possibly quite interesting.

Ola, you're spot on there mate. I've been a Villa supporter for many years. It started in about 1965 when I was living in Northants. One of our teachers had moved to Enfield and, he invited my school team to go down and play against his old club then to go to WHL to see Spurs v Aston Villa.  It was the name that first captured my imagination but, I was the only one supporting the Villa-you can imagine the abuse I got at half time as we were 1-5 down. Then we pulled it back to 5-5 and should have scored again in the last couple of minutes.

As luck would have it, I came to live in Brum since I was 20y.o. and, have had my fair share of the Villa ups and downs over the years but, as is said, you can change your Wife but not the football team you love!!

Wonder if fans who paid to go today will get a refund ?

My mate would be pleased. He only bought a ticket for the booking history and didn't even go.

This. Just dreadful errors. Even the Long shot should have been preventable and saveable.

Not sure how a keeper can do much, westwood inexplicably lost the ball and before you could say "fuck sake" the ball is sailing into the back of the net

I think Sherwood should shoulder a bit of responsibility for yesterday as well. If Okore wasn't fit, maybe giving Senderos 45 minutes in the second half would have been a better idea. Same with Sissohko. Hutton didn't look happy playing on the left at all. Finally, i'd have brought Sinclair on when N'zogbia went off.

All in all, one to forget.
