I'd play Senderos against Burnley and if he plays well* put him in ahead of Spongey Ron for the final.

(* actually, if he plays not crap will do)

The only positives , that's surely our bad game out the way now. I'd rest the big guns and play fringe players next week who will all be praying and hoping for a cup final position.
Today also should seal Vlaars fate in terms of he needs to leave this summer, let someone else pay him £10m over 4 years, he simply ain't worth it.

Got to say, I was absolutely shocked at the lack of a burst of pace from Okore on the turn !
Ok, I've always thought Vlaar is shit, but always thought Okore promising.

I'm very concerned, I wonder if his knee injury is slowing him down.

All in all, a very miserable performance, Given must be out for the next two games.

I'd bring Senderos n Baker back for next week with Sinclair instead of Grealish.

Grealish was frustrated today, kept getting hacked down whilst running in circles.. He needs to go forward and attack the player.

Why on earth did I choose the villa, fucking given me 29 years of stress 😜

The Scottish Cafu can never be asked to play left back again. He didn't seemed to gave a clue where to run. If he'd just jogged back into the box he'd have been able to clear the one save that Shay pushed out

two right footed players playing on the left looked exactly as we all thought two right footed players playing on the left would look like.

You learn more in defeat than victory so that will hopefully help Sherwood take a long hard look at how we set up against Arsenal.

Bringing us back down to earth may not be a bad thing.

Okore definitely surprised me with his lack of speed today - I'm sure I've seen him zipping about the place much more quickly than that before. Maybe he is carrying an injury of some sort, or maybe I've not seen him up against such pace today. Either way, I still think he's a good player who could become a real asset in the coming years, so I hope there's no thoughts of him leaving over the summer. I actually thought he and Clark looked a really promising pair when they played together.

Vlaar is responsible for that. Criminal defending and we lose a game Inside three minutes. Given was poor too, under Longs shot and weak in claiming the first two, but Vlaar is the architect of this utter shit.

You go a goal down then you need to re-group not gift two more goals in the space of a minute. Game gone, fucked.

Why Sherwood messed with the balance at the back I have no idea. Mane turned Hutton inside out.

If we manage to stay up, then we need to spend some serious money on a couple of centre halves and a keeper.

Did he mess with the back 4 though? Richardson wasn't available.
Yup. That change was imposed on him, but I still think he was way too slow to react when it was clear we were in a mess. It's the worry many had with his appointment, and it was borne out today.

This is not writing sherwood off by any means, but if he takes the credit for good results, he should also bare some of the responsibility when results like this come along.

Bear.

Collymore really laying into us on twitter.  Says we are deluded.

You've misunderstood; he meant you for paying credence to WM.

Tonight feels weird. Listening to commentary in my car on R5, driving somewhere new, every time the phone map function thingy interrupted the radio to give directions it felt like they'd scored when radio coverage resumed. On the return journey, sans map function, it sounded like Hull were inevitably going to score. But obviously didn't. Can hardly believe a 6-1 defeat and relegation avoided on the same day.

Awful and embarrasssing. We left at half time with many other Villa fans.

So that's three-and-a-half times you've seen the Villa this season, Richard. I'd stick to Saturday afternoon shopping in Chichester with your wife and daughters if I were you.
