Just back.
The '12th man effect' is often mentioned regarding fans, but for me it's always been a bit of a throw away line to make the supporters feel good and thank them.
Yesterday I honestly saw the '12th man effect' With 10 minutes to go we had players dead on their feet.
At this point there is a moment I will never forget.
Benteke turns to the crowd and urges us on. We were loud all game, but the noise level went up another 500 decibels. I literally saw the players lift. It put a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye.

The game? Feckin' fantastic  :)

Paul Lambert's bitter other half speaks:-

"James Nursey ‏@JamesNursey  1h1 hour ago
But Villa fans, as #BCFC fan @TheSpecialRon pointed out amid Villa's jubilant celebrations, you don't get the trophy for winning the semi!!

Genuine scouse Liverpool fans seem to be OK, as others have said, it is really the day-tripping glory hunters who let them down.

I know 2 Liverpool fans that actually went to the game. One was a Bosnian guy who now lives in Boston (USA not Lincs) who paid a fortune for the tickets online and told me proudly that he knew all the words to You'll Never Walk Alone and the other was a buyer for Tesco who's probably been to Anfield 5 times in the last 10 years. Christ knows how he got a ticket.

I've a mate who works at the Cake Gallery in Merseyside.
They've just received a cancellation for an FA Cup shaped cake from a Mrs Gerrard  ;)

I love this off the Albion forum:

"As much as I hate them and hope they lose the final, they've pretty much acheived what any mid table club in our league hopes for - a cup run and potential safety. Not envious, as most teams in the top few divisions have that aim and only one can do it - this year it's Villa, next it could be anyone.

Didn't see any Wigan, Swansea, Hull or Blues fans think they'd suddenly become a force in football though"

And that my friend is because much like your own team, they never have been.

What a day - for many reasons - but the main one being I managed to get a ticket for my Mom - who loved every minute of the day.

And it kept her mind off her chemotherapy which starts tomorrow.

She is positive and she will beat it - but whatever happens , 5 members and 3 generations of my family have had a day together than no one can ever take away from us .

UTV - God bless x

Beautiful. All the very best of luck to her.

Just noticed this.
Glad she enjoyed the day, and she will beat it and she will see Villa lift the FA Cup.
Good luck to you and your family.

That comment about no trophy for winning a semi final just shows how small minded and professionally torpid Nursey is. The silver pot is a lump of silver. Far bigger to the fans and the club is to take our place at the pinnacle of the world's oldest and most famous competition. The publicity and the media exposure is beyond price. What Aston Villa need now is a chance to put the immediate past and the horror show it all was behind us and that is what going head to head in the FA Cup Final against the London media sweethearts will enable us to do. That is what was at stake Nursey you bitter long range assassin.

A Bunnymen song popped up on my shuffle setting this morning reminded me of something Mac said at that gig in Digbeth in February, hours after we had beaten Leicester. I wrote in the review at the time:

"Oh and someone asked Mac who he fancied in the QF. "Don't you mean the Final?" came the reply after which he added "it's our time""

Not for the first time this weekend I broke out into a wide smile.

Couldn't have put it better myself Brian. Yesterday we felt like a big club and we felt like we had our club back. I wanted to cry with joy.

I got hugged by two random blokes after both goals. One even told me he loved me.

I wish you could "Sky plus" moments from your life. That last ten minutes, where the nervous energy got everyone of their feet jumping round like a cat on a hot tin roof, with the incredible vocal backing would be brilliant to replay again and again and again and again...

Suppose Randy Lerner sells the club. What else could he buy with the money that has the power to stir and rouse the emotions and raw, naked passion of forty thousand spectators in an arena and ten times that number all over the globe the way Villa did when we lifted our boys to glorious victory yesterday? Owning the Villa at 4.40 on the afternoon of Sunday 19th of April 2015 is the closest Randy Lerner will ever come to immortality. And he does not want to be part of it.
