don't know if this has been mentioned already but all of the catering staff at Spurs yesterday were wearing 1981 retro Villa shirts.

I assume that was the away end and only the away end. Seems like a really bright idea, it makes it harder for the visiting hordes to give them a tough time.
Yep. Everybody in the beer queue was commenting on it, saying it was a nice touch.

HD is not very kind to Tim or are those wrinkles have appeared since he has been in charge of us?

He was looking a bit haggard yesterday. Maybe he's been losing a lot of sleep.
So now he can sleep just a little better.

One thing is for sure we won't lose at Wembley for a lack of trying to win. In fact that kind of attitude is more likely to get us the result we want.

After such a poor second half performance against QPR, you really have to give Sherwood some praise for getting the lads' heads so focused. Not only was it a 110% effort from all, there was a lot of quality shown in our play.

.... Sherwood and his backroom boys deserve huge credit for that.

I wonder how much difference Kevin Mc is making? His know-how with Timothy's enthusiasm and positivity may be a good combination.

Liverpool's season and possibly Rodgers job hinges on the semi. After spending most of the season unable to score, yet alone win and having relegation pressure then easing that pressure a bit recently our lot should be in good spirits and relatively relaxed for the game.

Is Stan Boardman going to be on the coach?

They basically think they just need to turn up and they're through.

The last time we were in such an underdog position at Wemberley was 1994 League Cup final.

I think we've been underdogs in all our appearances at new Wembley.

Cue my regular rant. The only time we've not been underdogs for a final in memory was Leeds in 1996, which was also the only time we acted like it.

Our poor record against Spurs r entity is a good measure of "how far we have fallen", as for most of the past 20 years we have done them at home, while thyve finished somewhere unimpressive such as 13th. A good time to have set the record straight.

Spurs are continually treated by the Media as a top-six premier league club even though they've spent the majority of PL seasons outside of it. In fact it took them 14 attempts before they eventually scraped 5th place in 2005/06. They have since reached a total of seven top-six finishes, never managing higher than 4th.

We on the other hand, have finished in the top-six nine times with a highest finish of 2nd , but we are not considered a top-six club even when we finished 6th for three consecutive seasons. We were considered as over-achievers.

Try telling your casual modern football fan that Villa have finished top six in the PL more times than Spurs and it will be met with denial and disbelief. That's the power of the Media. It's great fun proving em wrong, though.

I've looked him up. It's Tony Parks and, at least on the surface, the goalkeeping coach. So how influential is Mark Robson?
.. and where's Kev in all this?
