He still drives I overtook him going to hull or Newcastle don't recall which

He does both, when selling the fanzine i've seen him driving and in the back seat.

Think Dave Ismay used to drive him to away games before he passed away a few years back.

One of their big stewards was high 5'ing all the villa fans on the way out.
We sumised he must be a Gooner   :D

There was also one who was helping to bat the balloons into the home fans area

The most laid back and pleasant bunch of stewards that I've encountered this season

A great day out, the first time I've seen us win at WHL since 1981 and nice to meet up with purpletrousers before the game.

Also met some sound guys who are Villa fans from Kettering, Northampton and Stourbridge at The Woodins Shades in Bishopsgate after the game. I promised one of them, Steve from Stourbridge, that I would put the words to a song he invented earlier in the day on here; he's hoping it'll catch on at Wembley next week:-

Oh oh oh it's magic; you know,
Tim Sherwood's win ratio.

We had good fun practising singing it outside the pub but I don't think any Spurs fans passing were too impressed; a humourless bunch!

Christian Benteke, Fabian Delph and Ron Vlaar were the star players when the statistics were analysed following our win at Tottenham.

Our trio stood out in a host of past-game categories after our 1-0 victory.

Special mentions, too, for Carlos Sanchez, Nathan Baker, Kieran Richardson and Tom Cleverley who also impressed in the capital clash.

Benteke was No.1 for shots with two in total, one on target and one goal.

Delph was No.4 with two in total and one on target.

Delph was No.1 for ball recoveries with 12. Sanchez was No.2 with seven.

Richardson was No.1 for tackles with six successful from 10 attempted. Cleverley was No.2 with five successful from six attempted. Delph was No.3 with four successful from eight attempted. Leandro Bacuna was No.5 with four successful from seven attempted.

Sanchez was No.2 for interceptions with four. Vlaar was No.3 with three. Richardson was No.4 with three.

Benteke and Baker were No.1 for blocks with one.

Vlaar was No.1 for clearances with nine successful from nine attempted. Baker was No.3 with four successful from four attempted. Richardson was No.5 with two successful from two attempted.

Benteke was No.1 for aerial duels with 11 successful from 19 attempted. Vlaar was No.4 with three successful from four attempted. Sanchez was No.5 with two successful from two attempted.

Benteke was No.2 for fouls suffered with two. Delph was No.6 for passes with 36 successful from 42 in total.

Cleverley was No.4 for attacking third passes with 10 successful from 15 in total.

Bacuna was No.1 for chances created with one goal from one chance. Benteke was No.3 with three chances.

Jack Grealish was No.5 for take-ons with three successful from three attempted.

Did anyone get annoyed by Lineker's patronising question to TS on MOTD? Something along the lines of "but surely you must look around you at Spurs and still think all of this could've been mine?"

Sums up the London bias of the media. Wanker.

"Well a top 8 finish would be great for a team like Spurs, but I'll be aiming higher than that with a club like the Villa."

I saw it but I honestly didn't find it patronising. They're at the other end of the table to us anyway I don't think he was trying to take the piss.

That sort of question from Lineker probably only strengthens sherwood resolve.

That was a much better afternoon than I'd expected.  I was behind the goal at the other end to the Villa fans and they were impressive as usual.

Nothing to add to what I've read on here, other than I felt (a bit) sorry for the ten or so German Spurs supporters behind me.  They were ok, much more likeable than some of their English cousins.  There were three pissed Villa fans walking back afterwards singing something uncomplimentary about Kane which I thought was asking for trouble, but none came that I saw.

Baker really was very good, he looked totally assured alongside Ron, and it's great to have a beard in defence again.

I don't care much for Spurs, but I'll be (again, a bit) sad to see that stadium go. The new one looks identical to Arsenal's bowl.

I hate Spurs.

I try not to make enormous generalisations about football supporters, but if i were to scribble down on a piece of paper, how many fans of other clubs I've met in my life, and how many turned out to be absolute bell ends, Spurs would be pretty close to champions.

I quite like WHL, it has a bit if character , it will be sad to see another generic meccano affair go up in its place. The view from the away end upper tier is pretty impressive .

It's in the middle of an absolute shithole though.

Is their new ground actually confirmed?

They've started building it as far as I know.

Another soulless, characterless indentikit bowl no doubt.
