Congratulations - no complaints from me. We couldn't live with your pace nor intensity in that second half.

We live to regret the two good chances we missed in the first half.

Fairplay Liam. Close game.

Are you feeling better TV?  I was worried about you when we came home last night and the first post of the game thread contained the observation by you that a semi final in the real cup was a bit small time.    Good to see you back in the saddle and galloping towards north London.

Some of the comments I've heard and read in the media about yesterday can be summed up thus: Losing their grip on reality.

The media were using this opportunity to subconsciously refer to the nightmares of Hillsborough and Heysel, and instill themselves into the general population. The repercussions will now be that Villa will start to be thought of along the same lines as Millwall, will kill off any notion of safe standing (that Villa have voiced support for) and influence any FA punishment the club gets in the next few weeks.

Now who's for another 5:30 kick off?

That's ridiculous. The media - and some of our supporters - have been completely out of proportion, but to say the above comparisons are seriously being made is plain daft.

There's an article going around on Twitter saying how blown out of proportion the media outrage has been. On the article there's some footage of Patrick Barclay saying that it was this kind of behaviour that led to fans being caged in, which led to the Hillsborough disaster.

SF in the real cup is fantastic. Fans running on celebrating goals and before the end of the game was all a bit small time. Let's achieve something first is the way I look at and I know we've been a bit starved in these parts, I'd rather we wait to go a bit mental if we win the whole thing. That's all. Can't wait for the next round.

I don't use Instagram but just seen this - https://instagram.com/p/z-TV6vIVZl/

Awesome photo!

I see Shay's getting ready for retirement...

Meaning?

I think it was said tongue firmly in cheek ;) meaning that despite being at the tail end of his career Shay played brilliantly and looks delighted to be a part of the action at the club. Solid pro.
At first I wondered who it was, he looks like a sprightly teenager!

Today's back page headine CARNAGE! in the Torygraph
The TV highlights reel showing fans swinging from the crossbar
The phrase "dark days of the 80s" being used by more than one person by more than one outlet.

Its being hinted at. Football fans though can see through the propaganda.

We are only weeks away from a very tight and probably dirty General Election.   The cynic in me suggests that the demonizing of the great unwashed taking to their grubby bosoms the footy football thugs will play well in the cut glass and stewed prunes belt.

Agreed.  Some posts today have reached persecution complex levels.

Pearce and Lawrenson were dreadful at the WC, like the fuckin' glums. Pearce said that Sandwell were worthy of draw in midweek and my Albion mates disagreed.
Anyway, he is a fan of one of the Bristol clubs but spent his uni days here and watched us win the league so has a bit of a soft spot for us.

TV you know I have seen this movie and you know I have told in these pages of my dream of Christian Benteke dancing on the Wembley turf with the lid of the FA cup on his head.   Go as mental as you like.   It is written.

A Watford football fan is in a critical condition after being attacked by a gang in Wolverhampton on Saturday.

The 44-year-old was with a group of friends making his way to the railway station to return to Hemel Hempstead after a match at Molineux stadium.

They were attacked in Littles Lane at about 17:00 GMT, West Midlands Police said.

Det Sgt Adam Keen said the group was "completely outnumbered" and the man was left with a severe head injury.

He is currently in hospital with what the force described as "life-threatening injuries".

"His family have been informed and we are in the process of taking statements from witnesses and locating any CCTV which might have captured those responsible for the attack," Det Sgt Keen said.

He appealed for anyone with information on the attack to come forward.

The Championship match between Wolves and Watford finished in a 2-2 draw.

Wolves Chief Executive Jez Moxey said the club were "deeply saddened" to hear about the attack and their thoughts were with the supporter and his family.

"As a club we deplore any violence in or around football matches, and we will work closely with the relevant authorities to help bring the perpetrator, or perpetrators, to justice," he said.

At the end of the day & after over 3.5 seasons of absolute dross. We are entitled to utter joy. No one got hurt on the pitch and the biggest story is Delph getting some love bites. If the club get a £100K fine they still make a profit from TV rights.

The lion has woken from his slumber.
