Congratulations, you fucking idiots, you've added another embarrassing entry to your list of shit appointments.

We really have given up.

Bit over the top
Nope, absolutely accurate.

Out of the frying pan, into a fucking cremation oven.

So this appointment is embarrassing and that is absolutely accurate?
Yup.

There's no reason that you should be embarrassed. You didn't appoint him.

All this negativity from the same people who championed the appointment of Lambert. Frankly I'd be more worried if we appointed a manger most on here were happy with. Give the geezer a chance!!

I was against the appointment of Lambert - does that mean I get to moan about Sherwood?

Ok, a few weeks back his name was mentioned on this site and I thought why not, it can't be any worse than what we have. However my opinion changed mainly due to many comments this week by many people on here who generally have good opinions and knowledge on other players or managers outside of B6. I then started to doubt Sherwood based on these comments.

I suppose where I stand is I have to make my own mind up based on what he does for us now and hope that everyone who doubts him are wrong. I got the whole Lambert appointment very wrong, I thought he was going to be a fantastic tactician and man manager of players. He ended up neither. I also thought MON was one of the best managers in the game and got quite caught up in the drama of Ellis going, MON signing and Randy buying the club to really question signings such as Harewood or his ability for a different approach to a game.

Welcome to Villa Tim, I hope you can get this sorry side playing the way I'm sure it can. I really believe this side at full strength could even challenge for Europe, at worst mid table.

Don't forget most on here were ecstatic when lambert was appointed
Yes, me included. He was another young, up and coming manager. How wrong was I and many others.

Come on Tim, FA Cup Final win and survival and you will become a Legend. Easy!

Very much an unknown quantity. He only managed for 28 games at Spurs, but won at least 50% of them.
But he's young, hungry and ambitious. He played attacking football at Spurs, is well known to work well with and develop youth players (might see Grealish back now).

He can be a bit of a gobshite and no real experience over a long term...I think he'll do ok. Not my first choice but not really disappointed either..and pleased that the club acted so quickly...

Welcome Tim....

Young? He is younger than Jesus, greedy and deluded other than that he is fine.

I for one will give him a chance.

Welcome Tim.

Is the correct reaction. It would be nice to afford him some courtesy and to give him a chance. Treat him as you would like to be treated

Lambert at the time seemed to be a young, successful, tactically flexible manager. What they were looking for was sensible, even if the result didn't work out.

However when it doesn't work, it seems silly to assume that we're going to find success just by looking for the opposite of those positive things that you wanted before.

Sherwood had an instant affect at Spurs when he took over from AVB. Let's hope he can do the same for Villa over the next 3 months and keep us up.

Is it possible to be underwhelmed but open minded or is there a contraction in there?

He get's my backing purely because he can't be as bad as Lambert. I know that's not a great reason, and probably really short sighted but don't forget we're skint, we're up for sale and we're in the relegation zone - we were hardly going to get anyone that good. Was we?

I am underwhelmed. A potentially disastrous appointment.

Isn't every appointment potentially disastrous?  There are no guarantees in football,  there are certainly no certainties when it comes to appointing managers look at Chelsea and Liverpool over the last 10 years.

Just read a comment that we both, i.e. club and manager, have a point to prove so could be a good fit. Which makes some sense to me.

Well, I guess we have got to get behind him now.

If nothing else he will kick ass. Lets hope its enough to keep us up and build from there

One thing he is one fortunate bloke to have this opportunity. Lets hope he grasps it
I will go with the above statement, good luck to him.

Exactly my reaction. I'm not thrilled but you give him a chance. We surely want him to be a success?
