Congratulations, you fucking idiots, you've added another embarrassing entry to your list of shit appointments.

We really have given up.

Bit over the top
Nope, absolutely accurate.

Out of the frying pan, into a fucking cremation oven.

So this appointment is embarrassing and that is absolutely accurate?

I'm not embarrassed.

I can't see into the future, either.

Has the club not learned anything from that stupid four year Lambert contract? Why not give him the rest of the season and then think about a long term deal?

Fucking idiots.
I agree, but his representatives would not have gone for that.  I would think a 3 year contract is about the minimum anyone would take.

Pulis signed a 2 1/2 year deal with Albion.

Not sure it works well if the players know it could be only 14 games in charge. They need to believe he is there for the long haul even if he isn't if you know what I mean

And besides, nobody is going to accept such a short contract.

Sherwood's managerial record:

LC West Ham (h) L1-2
PL Southampton (a) W3-2
PL West Brom (h) D1-1
PL Stoke (h) W3-0
PL Man United (a) W2-1
FA Arsenal (a) L0-2
PL Crystal Palace (h) W2-0
PL Swansea (a) W3-1
PL Man City (h) L1-5
PL Hull City (a) D1-1
PL Everton (h) W1-0
PL Newcastle (a) W4-0
EU Dnipro (a) L0-1
PL Norwich (a) L0-1
EU Dnipro (h) W3-0
PL Cardiff (h) W1-0
PL Chelsea (a) L0-4
EU Benfica (h) L1-3
PL Arsenal (a) L0-1
EU Benfica (h) D2-2
PL Southampton (h) W3-2
PL Liverpool (a) L0-4
PL Sunderland (h) W5-1
PL West Brom (a) D3-3
PL Fulham (h) W3-1
PL Stoke (a) W1-0
PL West Ham (a) L0-2
PL Aston Villa (h) W3-0

Good news: Not many draws, and lots of goals.  Good record v Stoke, and beaten Man U at Old Trafford.

Bad news: Some heavy beatings in there from Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City.  Inconsistent results - doesn't seem to have established a decent run anywhere in there.

Ridiculous comment, there is no way you can be certain of that.

That seems pretty accurate, Richard.

For novice see Gary Monk, for winner, see attitude and PL title winners medal, for development capabilities see Harry Kane and others at spuds.  For arrogance see good confidence levels.  He ticks a lot of boxes for me.  And more importantly I can understand what he says.  I say give him a chance.  His only downside was once having a dougal hairstyle.

Yup.

There's no reason that you should be embarrassed. You didn't appoint him.

We'll be left in no doubt of what he's trying to say in interviews that's for sure.

Very much an unknown quantity. He only managed for 28 games at Spurs, but won at least 50% of them.
But he's young, hungry and ambitious.

He's 46 which by PL standards is not young. 28 games at Spurs was all he was allowed. I wonder how many he'll get at Villa?

Under Levy...well known for his patience...wonder if we'd sack him if he won half our remaining games...?

But he had Spurs' players. If he were to repeat what he did at Spurs with us, that would mean matching his predecessor's win percentage.

The major criticism of Lambert was that he didn't get the most out of the players at his disposal, if Sherwood can galvanise them quickly and get them performing near the level they should be capable of then he will do the job required. Clearly, we then have a different job in the summer but lets cross that bridge when we get to it.

Timmy might flip it and say the results against City and Liverpool were pretty good considering AVB got trounched 6-0 and 5-0 by them that season.
Yeah, he probably would to be honest. ha ha.

Short of it is we need to win games to stay up so I have no issue with a win or bust policy in the run in, we did it under Lambert in 12/13 if you look back.

Too many draws will knacker us in the run in.

Sherwood never got the chance to go into the transfer market so he's a completely unknown quantity there.

Sure, but that's not what I was saying. I was just making the point that winning half his games at Spurs doesn't mean he'll win half his games with us - a more accurate stat is that he did as well as his predecessor.

I am underwhelmed. A potentially disastrous appointment.
