Gil reminds me so much of Carbone. The way he finds space, comfortable on the ball, low centre of gravity makes it hard to knock him off the ball too. Oh, and he score goals

Oh, and he score goals5 of us in Row Z all said "Carbone" when that went in. It's amazing what a win does to you. I've been smiling all day.

How did we have a squad in the 2000 Cup Final that had Carbone and Merson in it, yet we still created bugger all.
fanny merchant
Because Carbone was a fanny merchant and Merson vanished in big games.

I'm not sure where to post this really, but anyway... I am very impressed by Gil. He has that ability to do something off the cuff and it is that sort of guile we have lacked for a very long time. His movement and passing is very good and he clearly has the ability to score goals. That being said, I would say out best midfield would be him, Delph and Sanchez at home- is West Ham's or Southampton's really any better than that?
Carbone got sent off at Goodison in the quarter final. Wasn't it Stone that scored up there too? The 3-2 against Leeds in the 5th round was a great come back though.
