Gil in behind Benteke and Weimann would be alright.

Who is Dave Cartlidge? Is that a real name? Do we have reason to believe he knows the deal's fine print?

Google his twitter username, he's a journalist covering Spanish football.

No guarantee of him being correct, but he's not just some random 15 follower teenager in his bedroom, either.

What I'd really like just behind Weimann is one of those new bench seats we have.

He looks a bit like the lad that was pictured in a restaurant with Lambert last season.

Not greatly impressed with that sell on clause, but I would imagine there is also a buy out of that too.

Anyhow, skilful and looks like he can create space in the final third so will be an asset to be completely mis-used by the great Paul in the coming, painful months.

Good luck Gil. Something tells me you are going to need it!

I would prefer one of the plastic ones about 30 rows behind that to be honest.

Or a coach who advises him what to do when you have a really good scoring opportunity within 25 yards of the goal...other than just put your foot through it and hit the old bloke in row Z!

Get Gil in, although, I know fuck all about him. Then a wide player. That'll be the Cleverley money spent.

I'd whack a bid in for Puncheon.
Would Puncheon leave his Sarf Landon manor? He's known down there

On the chat at the foot of the story on Marca:

The offer is irresistible, we will not deceive. Still gives me grief because he was a squad that reached ilusionar to be a great player, but since I came from Elche has not curdled. I hope he does well in his career

Whilst I want Lambert out as I think he's clueless in terms of setting up a team that can create chances and dominate a game, I actually think his record in the transfer market isn't that bad.

I rate the signings of: Vlaar, Okore, Sanchez, Benteke. Yes there's been loads of dross (Sylla, KEA, Bowery, Luna, etc.), but for me it tends to be the case that when Lambert spends more than a couple of million, his record isn't too bad, as per my first 4 examples.

I'm hopeful for this guy, god knows we need him to make things happen in the final third or we're buggered.

All the skills and no final ball apparently, from what I have read. Should slot in well...

Fingers crossed this isn't the case.

I read somewhere that the holocaust didn't happen but I don't believe that.

A slightly OTT way of saying, don't believe everything you read. I wasn't reading the works of Jean-Marie Le Pen.

As I said let's hope he proves to be a good find.
He is a right winger though!

Just seen this on Twitter: Miran Saric, who writes on La Liga regularly for SB Nation's Real Madrid blog added that Gil is a "tricky little guy with the ball at his feet, pretty solid passer. Can't score to save his life."
Should fit in well

Our problem is creating chances for goals. I'm convinced Benteke will score a hatfull if we actually start crossing the ball in from the wings. Same applies to Gabby.
Hopefully Gill is the man to provide it.

Is he a bit like Albrighton?
Who went to Leicester for nowt and played really well for them against us on Saturday.
Would have loved Benteke to have had half the service he, and other Leicester players, provided for Ulloa etc.

And I never was an Albrighton fan.
It just shows what a decent coach can do with a half decent player.

Carles Gil - promising young Spanish midfielder - totally confused and fu**ed up by Paul Lambert.
Hope I'm very wrong.
