Job done. Five more one-nils and we've won the cup.

Piece of piss.

I'm a little concerned what will happen if one goes to penalties - surely that will freak the players out?

Looking on the bright side:

We quite clearly ruined Pat Murphy's afternoon by the sound of it.

Hmm I love to see that twat moan when we win. Soo good its like an extra goal :)

That'll be the only journalist who has ever come remotely near to challenging / questioning our manager for how awful his record has been.

You never know, the actual local media might do the same someday..

If its celebrations when we lose and misery when we win like Pat Murphy that you want but with a local flavour then try Radio WM!

Hard working local sports journalists exposing the evil schemes of Paul Lambert, week after week! He would have gotten away with it too if it wasn't for those damn kids! As a bonus just like Pat you can follow them record the glorious rise of the pride of the midlands West Brom!

Thanks for the suggestion that I go follow West Brom, I'd give you a proper answer but those damn kids might be reading.... :-)

As for the actual discussion not the snidey comments....I expect the local press to challenge our clubs and their managers when they are doing badly....to reflect the various opinions of the fanbase...not just cozy up in the hope of an extra bacon sandwich at press confs or a bland exclusive interview to fill a page or two.  Have you read one word of genuine questioning from the Mail or heard one word of sense from WM?

Lambert set up a team to avoid defeat, against the side rock bottom of The Championship.

Pathetic. Utterly pathetic.

Those of you who like Lambert deserve each other.
what both of them ?

If you don't like him, don't go. It's counter productive to turn up and boo. I get the impression some are hoping for us to do badly so they can moan. Well stay away. Ultimately we all want the Villa to do well don't we?

He's been on skysports news talking shit about creating chances in each of the last few games. Then reporters asked him if the chanting hurt him and he said 'no doesn't bother him been happening all his career but it doesn't help the players'

Unconditional backing didn't help the players either!  Complete nonsense that booing affects the players, are they really that weak? for me this lot & their leader have got of very lightly.

Didn't go today but to be honest all that matters is that we're in the next round.

Agree and hoping benteke will have taken some confidence from his goal and take that up the M69 on Saturday

I did and it doesn't.
Frankly, it was bloody disgraceful.

Why do you think teams have better home records than away ones if home support means nothing?

Playing one striker against a shite league 1 club at home. Expecting full backs to perform as wingers. Playing tom not very cleverly and nzog. Almost 6 hrs without scoring. It's a mess

It was shit today. But the single most important thing is being in the next round. I'd much rather have today's performance and result than to have played an absolute blinder and lost.

That said, playing well does somewhat increase the chances of winning.

Admittedly, I only go to 7 or 8 games a season so I might have missed something, but that was the loudest Lambert Out chant I've heard so far.  And it was getting louder each time until the goal went in.

The loudest Lambert out chant was at Burnley. Three parts of our away end were chanting it!

Lambert didn't acknowledge the away fans when he walked past, unsurprisingly.
