Before I go to bed Mal, I need to know whether this statue we are putting up to Lambert will be of him sitting down with his notepad or standing up clapping his hands?   It must be something of quality as befits the man.

While Lerner is responsible for Lambert having a job, what is happening on the pitch is entirely down to Lambert. Somehow he manages to take a bunch of reasonable players and coach the football out of them.

He will have one hand raised showing four fingers and a thumb to commemorate the five goals we have scored this season, the least in all divisions.

We haven't scored a single goal at the Holte End this season and we're well into November. Blimey.

Hi guys, first post.
I have mixed feelings about today's game, obviously important to get something out of it but being so pleased with a point shows where we are. We are not in a good place.

So those in the Witton End should be over the moon to have seen 3 !

The only reason Lambert didn't do a McLeish style fist pump in the direction of the directors box after claiming that mighty point was because you're more likely to find rocking horse shit at one of our games than you are one of our directors these days.

Well at least our 90 year-old President Emeritus was there; I overtook him on the M25 on the way to the game.

That's a good point today under the circumstances and west hams rich vein of form. The goals for column though is of massive concern now. Almost a third of the season gone and we've scored a measly 5 goals !!
That's the most shocking stat of all and will be hard to stay up with that goal ratio.

I think it was last season where we didn't score in front of the North Stand for even longer. Which of course was where my ST was. We did score that end in the LC, but typically I was in the Holte for that game.

That is truly fucking hideous.

Still, the chairman loves him, so there you go.

What a prick Lambert is. Jotting down god knows what on his notepad. I'm sick of the sight of him and that gum munching testicle, Keane.

A point is nice, but a little bit of ambition please Paul, you absolute scrotum.
Some choice words there Nik. Can disagree with any!

I think the most worrying part about Villa under Lerner/Lambert is that we go into games without a single intention of trying to win. Instead we surrender possesion from the off, sit back and defend for our lives and hope we hit them on the break at some point. That's why whenever we're not losing a game we're on tenterhooks waiting for the final whistle.
It's absolutely dreadful to watch and depressing to think this is Aston Villa under Randy Lerner and Paul Lambert. It can't end quick enough for me.

But isn't the point that today given the run we have been on than it was important to be hard to beat and then see anything else as a bonus.  I agree that Lambert is too negative, but today it was important to try and scrap for at least a point and we did that, and even played decent football in spells so why not talk about that?

The problem is we are nearly always on a shit run. So that excuse always holds true, we are trying to find our form, the 0-0 was fine because we've been so bad lately, players are lacking confidence etc etc.

On it's own a 0-0 at West Ham who have been playing well is a decent result. It's the consistently poor attempt at football we produce that is more worrying. Again today it's the same personel, the same tactics and the same bluntness going forward which makes me think even if we then win a game or two it's going to be back to another terrible run and that is life under Lambert.

It's always the same and i'm fucking sick of him to be honest.

But in the second half today I actually think we played some decent football.  For a 0-0 I don't think it was a bad game today.

Really?

I honestly thought we, at the most, did the minimum acceptable, and that is probably exaggerating, if anything.

We didn't look like scoring.

1 goal in 7 games, 1 point from 21

That would be bad enough, but what is 10x as bad is that the manager is under absolutely zero pressure.

I genuinely think we will go down this season, that is how bad we look. The fact we're desperately scrabbling around to take positives after such a piss poor performance says it all.

If this bloke stays in the job all season, we're going down, I think.

5 in 11 almost certainly suggests relegation. I say we all pray to whoever we believe in for invisible support.

I think it's a nailed on loss next time. Southampton are brilliant at the moment, and correct me if I'm wrong but isn't our record post-international breaks dreadful?

I have said it on the Lambert thread, but 29 points from 30 league games since the turn of the year.  That is relegation form.
