What I hate most is that we don't look like we are trying to win. We look like we are trying to get out with a point and if we get a win so be itX it isn't part of the plan. Even though other teams might lose more games they all seem to try and create chances and try to score goals. We don't and we got very lucky today that they were both wasteful and came up against a keeper in top form.

Instead we surrender possesion from the off, sit back and defend for our lives and hope we hit them on the break at some point. That's why whenever we're not losing a game we're on tenterhooks waiting for the final whistle. It's absolutely dreadful to watch and depressing to think this is Aston Villa under Randy Lerner and Paul Lambert. It can't end quick enough for me. But isn't the point that today given the run we have been on than it was important to be hard to beat and then see anything else as a bonus. I agree that Lambert is too negative, but today it was important to try and scrap for at least a point and we did that, and even played decent football in spells so why not talk about that?

Is this the Villa you want to see and do you truly honestly think we'll ever get any better under Lambert? It's bloody soul destroying.

So that excuse always holds true, we are trying to find our form, the 0-0 was fine because we've been so bad lately, players are lacking confidence etc etc.On it's own a 0-0 at West Ham who have been playing well is a decent result. It's the consistently poor attempt at football we produce that is more worrying. Again today it's the same personel, the same tactics and the same bluntness going forward which makes me think even if we then win a game or two it's going to be back to another terrible run and that is life under Lambert. It's always the same and i'm fucking sick of him to be honest.
"We broke them down several times apart from their goalkeeper" . Big Sam is not exactly saying we were hard to beat.We were infact saved from a hiding by Guzan .

I don't want to see long term, and I agree that it is starting to look that we will not improve under Lambert. But sometimes to make progress you just have to do worry about getting a result no matter what. We needed to stop the run of defeats and because of West Ham's form at home this season this was always going to be a tough fixture, so I think we should accept that a point is a good result and take positives from the performance.
The smartest thing Lambert did was getting Guzan back, he has saved us numerous times and today he probably saved Lamberts job.
I take solace in the fact that in 10 years time I shall be at Villa Park and Lerner and Lambert won't
The problem is that this sort of backs to the wall performance is the best that Lambert appears capable of delivering. Worse still is the impression that as long as this is enough to keep us in the Premiership Lerner is perfectly satisfied. It is an appalling way for any club to be managed and run least if all a club the size if the Villa.
