Aston Villa v Hull City Pre-Match Thread

Sunday 31st August 2014 - Villa Park

13:30 KO

About time that we started looking forward rather than fixating on the Orient game.

A winnable game. It would be nice to have another midfielder in there.

I am keen to see Sanchez start again and for Delph to be playing further up the park. I would be tempted to give Grealish a go too, as he as some guille and creativity that our midfield needs.

Guzan to come back in, along with Aly and Vlaar if fit. Sanchez anchoring with Westwood and Delph more advanced, Charlie, Grealish wide and Andi up top.

Given our upcoming fixtures, we could really, really do with a win here. Hull are coming on the back of getting knocked out of Europe so will hopefully be a bit despondent, but you never really know what you're going to get from them.  I'd take a scrappy 1-0 win with open arms.

Be nice if we came out of the blocks early with the likes of Gabby and Zog shredding them in the first 10 mins , get the early goal then shut up shop and play out a 1-0.

As we dont have any forwards of note 0-0 . We might get one with a fluke though 1-1

The defence should be on top form again!

I watched one of the worst Villa sides I've seen dispatch this lot last season without trouble, so it's a home win for me.
