Seems common business sense. People getting their knickers in a twist about something they have little understanding of.

It does not sound too different to what a lot of owners are looking to do. Hopefully they will bring a good solid management and board structure.

The problem comes when they have invested in a pig and need to get out.  There comes a time then where they will cease further investment and if the business isn't self sufficient then it would go bust or into Administration at least.  Hence what someone said earlie a strong leadership team is a must.

I'd imagine that the new owners will plough the first year's £47M parachute money in straight away plus some of their own money??

Only good thing it is a group not a Chinese hair dresser, mind you to be fair a Chinese hair dresser from Hong Kong, a bit of a different beast.
Read an article a while back that Chinese groups were being assisted by their goverment to get involved world wide in football clubs as the Chinese want to qualify for the 2022 world cup and by owning these European clubs could use the talent. i.e. coaching to their own benefit. Their own league has seen a steep rise in transfer fees paid for what they consider the top talent, maybe we just have to wait and see, but I am one of the ones that believe, yes things could go wrong, but the alternative is sticking with the man child.

Just a thought, with the Play off final likely to bring in the most valuable football match of the season likely to be worth £170M to the winner it wouldn't be a bad target to aim for? (so long as you win it of course)

A good season plus a couple of good cup runs due to improved confidence within the team.

Arsenal looking to splash £50m on a striker then £75-100M to buy a club doesn't seem too unreasonable?

Grey clouds and silver linings.

I doubt that if it is a Chinese Investment group that it is operating the same model as a PE firm.
There is an awful lot of Chinese money looking for ways of getting thier Currency out and into foreign assets.
It is a mirror story !!!

Mirror story copied and pasted by the star. If we are talking to several groups I am shocked the press haven't got a sniff of any names. I smell bu**s**t

Exactly, ultimately the best way to get a return in football is to have a successful team.

The MO of venture capitalists is very simple.  They buy low to sell high.  They usually have a five year payback period in mind but it can depend on the project involved.  Initially a decent amount of capital invested in the business to get it going but all loaded onto that businesses balance sheet.  The only way as someone has said of getting a return from us is to get us back to the PL as quickly as possible so to that end heavy investment at the outset is a pre-requisite.

A much more well-informed version of what I was trying to say. If what you've written (and what I wrote) is true, then it makes perfect sense for VCs to have a go at us, right? And if they do, we don't necessarily have to be worried about them being asset strippers? Or am I being naive?
VC's are not asset strippers - as said they generally look at a 5 year period for a particular venture, assess the costs involved to make a profit through that venture during the 5 years and most importantly, get their initial investment money back or make a profit on selling the venture after 5 years.
Everything they do is based on making a profit, with a football club that means making it a success; neither a continuing failure nor asset stripped, (as that would not fit with the sale on completion of the term).

I'd welcome strippers of any kind down B6 - assets or otherwise. We need cheering up.
