I'm hearing a lot about Lambert being our first choice, but don't get why that matters? We wanted him, we got him..but it's not worked out. So we go again.

I really think our board doesn't know what 'compelling play' is or would look like. They must think that getting excited once during a match is 'compelling'.

Maybe we could get Mr Ferguson to explain it to them. They listen to him.

Lambert should go but he was the overwhelming fans choice.  Harsh to blame Lambert on Faulkner as useless as he has been in other situations.

The worrying thought that I just can't shake is that, McLeish's last game at Norwich is the biggest reason he got the job, rather than based on any footballing philosophy, or ideas as to who would get the most out of the current squad.
To be fair he wasn't Lerners first choice OGS was. Lambert would have always been on the list regardless of what happened at Norwich.

And look how he is doing at Cardiff!!

Trouble is ozzjim you can not make those excuses in business as they  like to call football now days. If 3 appointments result in bottom line deficit, in our case points and attendance, than it's incompetence.

I am not arguing that point though.

OGS made a mistake in taking that job, full stop.

I still think he's got potential to be a good manager. You can't really read too much into being parachuted into a situation as fucked up as Cardiff, other than his judgement in accepting it.

Even then, if we, as I fear, only pick up another point, Cardiff win 2 and they finish on the same points as us.

Maybe, but I think we had a near miss with him.  First thing he did when he got to Cardiff was to sign young Norwegians who had been in Manchester United's academy.

I said at the time he took the Cardiff job, that it was almost a free shot at it for Solskjær.

Keep them up = miracle worker
Relegated = well what did you expect from where they were

is how it will be spun in  the media, who just because of his Fergie / Man Utd links will get a far easier ride than he might otherwise have got.  See also Bryan Robson.

Aston Villa chief executive calls for unity after defeat:-

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27022679

I haven't even got the energy to respond to any of his useless diatribe anymore

I'm sure he's relieved to hear that.

Indeed, you could follow my good example..........please?

And do what exactly - say that I don't want to say anything?

That would be lovely, thank you. Well volunteered and without me even suggesting it either. Much appreciated

If you don't want to read what I, or anyone else on here, has to say then there's an easy solution.

No, it's just what you write David, I was quite specific above I think. Hope you had a good evening, I watched an excellent documentary on BBC4 about the history of 18th century music. Try to catch it next week if you can as it's part of a series.

Who all just so happened to share the same agent as he did.

Just goes to show we're every bit as clueless as the board.

We had a stupid hissy fit because we were linked with MacLaren - didn't even let the bloke have an interview. He's since gone on to do very well at Derby; whilst we've stunk the house out under Lambert.

Apart from the interview he had where he blew any chance of the job?

That would indeed be a crumb of comfort.
