Pft, who he's only got $5billion and is only the 169th richest person in the world. Bloody pauper.

Ihear Randy was impressed when he came into his office and put his helmet on the table, so it looks a done deal
I tried that with a girl once.  Didn't work out to well....

Has this takeover rumour fizzled out already then? Wasn't able to survive a performance like that, I imagine.

Who'd want to buy the Villa after the last four games we've endured, unless it was at a knock down price or BOGOF offer  ;)

Villa have also reacted strongly to reports that the club are up for sale, insisting that Lerner has no plans to walk away after pumping in £250  million since he assumed control in August 2006.
Faulkner said: “I can categorically confirm Aston Villa Football Club has absolutely not been put up for sale and that Randy Lerner is not actively looking to sell the club.”

From The Telegraph on Monday 14.4.14 (article dated 3.2.14, though).

So what is the plan? Hope we cling on to 17th place year after year with a puny wage bill thereby making modest profits so he can slowly claw back some of the many millions he has spunked away invested?

'Actively' is the important word in that statement....

Did he say something similar towards the end of TSM's reign then promptly sacked him after the last game or did I imagine that?

The usual hollow words from Lerner's favourite yes man. Let's hope the two of them are gone by the summer.

Translation: don't chant against the board, lack of ambition, player investment, style of play, lack of success and the Manager that we selected 'cos if you do we will lose and it will all be YOUR fault.
