It is a bit different sitting in the hole in the wall (or where ever the pub is now) or Aston Social and singing songs of almost folk music genre to being in the stands and blasting out a wall of sound.
In the ground, wall of sound.
If we were to sing all the verses of Holte enders in the sky at the games everyone would be mumbling befopre the end of the 1st verse.
Instead, at every telivised game as the teams run out I hear, YIPPYE AYe AYE, brilliant this is our song.
But it does not prevent us having, other songs.
My all time favourite,  a long haunting rendition of, Villa, Villa,Villa, Villa ,followed by Villa, Villa,Villa,Villa.

My favourite too.

One I remember for the old Aston Tavern back in the day.
Bring on Arsenal or United
Bring on scousers by the score
Barcelona, Real Madrid they all make a gallant bid.
But they wont beat the Villa any more

Does anyone else remember this?

Bring on Manchester United
Bring on the Spaniards by the score

They’ll all make a gallant bid
But they won’t beat The Villa anymore
Anymooooooorrreeeeeeeeeeee

Everyone to their own, all opinions valid, but personally I don't like the song, I don't like the greatest team in the world song (sung by any team, even if they are) and I don't sing about the blues, apart from my old man, because I don't care. I will say however that the childish side of me did used to enjoy the 'Karen Brady is a fucking slaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag'

Singing rags songs - I'm afraid it's a no from me. Sounds like a dirge on the tv (on hols at the moment).

Remember it well, though with "scousers" replaced by "Spaniards"

.......and I went to the match yesterday & the "I don't care" song has wormed its way into my ear. I'm in favour of it, catchy and family friendly

This song keeps the atmosphere going at the back of the Holte and I must say I enjoyed just making a racket!

It seems to have caught on with female Villans - one behind me was very engaged with it and there was another walking up Trinity Road after the match shouting it at anyone she thought might be a scouser

Just a pity the shit have been singing it for a couple of years.

When I went to watch them a season or two ago (it's a long story) they were singing this song about Carson. It seemed really appropriate unlike when we sing it about Liverpool. Just be glad we don't have a conman as an owner to sing the song about.

Not the first they have nicked off them. Mind you, FC do have a printed songbook like those at OT. Typical whining Manc song.

everyone will have there story about where the paul mcgrath song came from. the original one was from " we have found a friend in jesus we have found a friend in god" but the version we sing started just off wembley way 1994 v man utd. we came out of st josephs social club drunk as skunks me my son mark and mates danny, pete and paul sabell(r.i.p).
then we bumped into a salvation army band that was playing the tune to we have found a friend in jesus song and we all joined in.the next tune they played was the cum-by-yar my lord cum-by-yar,and all of a sudden paul dropped in the words paul mcgrath my lord paul mcgrath and the whole band and choir was singing it with us and thats how the song was born. paul is a holte ender in the sky now but he left us with that song.

St. Joseph's Social Club is where we drank before the finals in 94, 96 and 2000. Good times!

My all time favourite,  a long haunting rendition of, Villa, Villa,Villa, Villa ,followed by Villa, Villa,Villa,Villa.

One of my favourites too. The rendition against Everton in 77 LC final springs to mind.

It seems like a tune that can go on for a bit of time adding to the atmosphere and enabling everyone to join in. I'm all for it.
