Giggs had three seasons under his belt too. Also they had the money to buy themselves out of trouble if it didn't work.Ok i'm being ridiculous, but we have Guzan, Lowton, Bennett, Baker, Westwood, Weimann and Benteke, and for United it did work. also we are more of attractive club to potential buyers than most in the bottom 12 because everything is in place and we have the stadium and training facilities to match so who says the money won't be there in the next 5 years?

Oz Jim dont worry be happy ( thats if you can)
I am SO SO glad today i am one of the people who has stuck with Lambert from the very off, yes tactically at times he has had a few mares and made the wrong substitutions, however overall the bravery in his decisions last summer deserve so much credit alone. Not only has PL brought our supporters back down to earth and backing THE TEAM again, He has got us playing some of the best football we have seen in years, especially away from home. The amount of kicks in the bollocks we've had this season yet PL has still managed to rally the players. 'We'll be fine' he whispered after every game in that grim Xmas period and after N'castle at home.. it may sound pretty lame but actually we will be fine, and we fully deserve our Premier league status largely down to Paul Lamberts evident hard work and belief in his players, his vision is one we must pursue, the last club to take such a risk was Manchester United...By the way, our support this season has been the best i have witnessed in years, you get a great sense of rapport between the team/management and the fans which is really positive and creates a good vibe which opposition clubs can see. UTV, Enjoy a beer tonight.
But in my opinion, and that is all it is, my opinion, due to the Wigan result, we are still in big trouble do the way the fixtures fall. If they win in the week, there is a very good chance on the last day they will have the opportunity to beat us and finish above us. That could be enough to relegate us still.
MOTD order: 1.WBA v Wigan, 2. Norwich v Aston Villa, 3. Fulham v Reading, 4. Spurs v Tottenham, 5. QPR v Arsenal, 6. West Ham v Newcastle, 7. Swansea v Man City
It's incredibly tight down there.Just the way I like it
