I think we'll lose to both Manc clubs and get points from every other game.

do you mean every other game or every other game? We need to know. And do you mean points (plural) from every other game or a solitary point from every other game? This is fundamental in terms of the grand total we could expect at season's end and whether it'd be sufficient to save us from the trap door. I know it's a Sunday but your shoddiness is quite frankly breathtaking.

Aston Villa v Man City       LOSE
Reading v Aston Villa        LOSE
Aston Villa v QPR              LOSE
Aston Villa v Liverpool       LOSE
Stoke v Aston Villa            LOSE
Aston Villa v Fulham          LOSE
Man Utd v Aston Villa         LOSE
Aston Villa v Sunderland    LOSE
Norwich v Aston Villa        LOSE
Aston Villa v Chelsea        LOSE
Wigan v Aston Villa          LOSE
I think Malcolm just P'd himself.
I don't do predictions; so here's my take on it:
Aston Villa v Man City         L
Reading v Aston Villa         D
Aston Villa v QPR              W
Aston Villa v Liverpool        D
Stoke v Aston Villa            D
Aston Villa v Fulham          W
Man Utd v Aston Villa         L
Aston Villa v Sunderland     D
Norwich v Aston Villa          D
Aston Villa v Chelsea          D
Wigan v Aston Villa            L

This gets us to 36; which should mean we avoid 19th and 20th but may not be enough for 17th spot in the P'ship.

Yeah my predictions are pretty similar to that, 36 points would give us a pretty good chance of staying up I think.

With our goal difference 36 wouldn't save us I don't think. We need at least 39.

Clearly a tongue in cheek there but just as probable as staying up.

Wigan- Liverpool- D
Wigan-Newcastle- D
Wigan- Norwich- W
QPR- Wigan- D
Wigan- Swansea- D
West Ham- Wigan- L
Wigan- Spurs- L
WBA- Wigan- D
Man. City- Wigan- L
Arsenal- Wigan- L
Wigan- Us- Win

Would leave them on 35 points even after beating us. Nasty feeling Wigan playing West Brom late in the season though....

West Brom kept us up last year by beating Bolton - I can't see them doing us a favour two years running.

Still think we'll do it. The performance if not the result at arsenal was encouraging. I think we've got enough to pull clear of reading, qpr and Wigan. It won't be comfortable though.

The 5 min or so, spell we had after the equaliser I thought we might just get the winner. Sickening result but wasn't our day.

I have just dug my little enough points sticky note out of my desk. It has one tick next to West Ham for an expected three points and a nice little mark in the unexpected points column for Everton.

I have us down for 7 points from the next four games. The critical two are Reading and QPR. If we can win the former, then I think it will be curtains for Reading and consequently, by winning the later QPR will be down too. The point comes at home to Liverpool.

I think though that a point at Reading would be a good one though.

I have us down for 41, but then I think SHQ is right, 36 will be enough.

If we can beat Reading, QPR, Sunderland and Fulham then we will go to Wigan with nothing to play for but the chance of sending them down.

But if 36 puts us down on goal difference then we only need 37 surely?

Logic innit!
