Kieton Jennings ct Brown b Nash 127
Arshad 83
Onions in now
Lead 280
This Arshad fellow doesn't even warrant a place in the Durham section of the 'Playfair' annual. Local lad from Binley, made his debut some time in August. As i said that Arshas ct Joyce b Zaidi 83
444-9. I was hoping they could bat till lunch to take some time out of the game.
Rushworth in now who needs 2 runs to get to 100 for the season.....may not last too long. Just got a 4 so got his 100 for season
surely a lead pushing 300 is good for a side with a bowler in the form Onions is. This one looks like all 3 results would be possible from now, I guess it depends o the pitch though.
Rushworth b Zaidi 9
Onions NO 5
458 All Out
Sussex require 295 in 75 or 76 overs minus Michael Yardy who apparently is ill. The bowler Zaidi also has a broken finger. With Luke Wright and Matty Prior batting it is possible if they treat as a 1 dayer.
Nothing to lose draw no good.
Will be good listening for the rest of the day!!!
Sussex away in their 2nd innings 8-0
Onions (69 Wkts) and Rushworth (54) opening the bowling as usual who require a further 5 wickets between them to break the Durham opening partnership of Harmison and Brown who took 127 wickets between them in a county season not so long ago......so come on you pair get going!!!
295 to win is very tough to get in the 4th day of a match. Intriguing game.
At lunch Sussex require 252 in a minimum of 62 overs @ 4.06 per over
Durham 67-0
228 more off 55 overs req'd @4.15 per over
Going well are Nash & Wells
Durham 131-0 now 32 overs 43 overs left requiring further 164 @ 3.81
Wells 69
Nash 50
Not looking good
Finally Sussex have lost a wicket - probably too late for us though.
A break through
Sussex 163-1
Wellss Ct Colly b Onions 88
Nash 67
132 req'd 34 overs @3.88
Resumed after Tea
191-1 47 overs
104 req'd in minimum 28 overs @3.71
Sussex won by 6 wickets to finish 3rd but still a respectable place of 4th for dougie browns first season in charge.

Yes spot on Eastie considering the decimated bowling attack.......the batting worries me a lot but good signs from Evans and Javid towards the end of the season

Simon Brown, left arm seamer, totally forgot about him. Wasn't he a one cap wonder.......hold on, google,........yep he was.
550 first class wickets as well. Impressive.
Bell and Woakes on the pitch at half time today, according to a Bears fan sitting next to me.
