Bears have named a 14 man squad for last home game of season tomorrow v Surrey:
Chopra, Ambrose, Atkinson W/K, Barker, Chambers, Clarke, Evans, Gordon, Javid, Patel, Porterfield, Rankin, Westwood & Woakes.

Ambrose and Clarke if they play they can only bat injuries will not allow them to keep wkt or bowl.

Warwickshire won toss and put Surrey in 2nd over Woakes bowling 4-0 2 overs - 4 byes.
Team is: Chopra, Westwood, Javid, Evans, Woakes, Clarke, Barker, Patel, Atkinson (w/k) Chambers, Gordon.
Rankin not released by England and Porterfield and Ambrose left out the 14.
If Surrey fail to get 350 in 110 overs Bears safe
5-1
Sibley LBW Barker 0
Difficult batting conditions, floodlights are on.
Amla comes to the wicket. Last match he got a pair....hope that doesn't mean he is due a good 'un!

Bears enquired of England whether they could bring Rankin in to the side tomorrow presumably at the expense of Gordon.

They were told no - We (england) want him to rest.

Perhaps he is on the plane to Oz already!!!
Surrey 32=2

Surely Onions has to go on the tour, he's been at Anderson levels of unplayable in the last few weeks.

Off for bad light now rain - Surrey 59-2
Notts 72-9   Onions 3-30 Rushworth 3-24
Yorks 40-2

Bopara and Tredwell playing for their counties today. Onions 31 now, i agree bowling really well but are they looking for the bowler with a bit longer left- Rankin 29 for instance. Maybe take 5 or 6 quickies which could be obviously Broad & Anderson, Bresnan if fit plus Tremlett, Rankin & Onions just take 1 spinner and stick 2nd spinner(Tredwell or Monty or Lancs kid name gone in performance squad plus Finn who are in Australia anyway and can be called upon.. I do believe Finn will miss out.

His age is a slight concern but his form is so good that he's hard to ignore, he's also the only genuine alternative if Jimmy is out, all the other bowlers in form are seamers really.  I agree on Finn, he looks like he's struggling with changing his action to avoid clipping the wicket.

Durham 18-2 since lunch - wickets tumbling perhaps there is something wrong with the pitch here. Yorks 81-2

Bears still off

It boils my piss when this happens. Ben Stokes is due to play for Durham in the current match replacing Arshad. Broad & Swann are playing for Notts in the CB40 final at the weekend yet we can't play Rankin. Are we too soft with our former coach and his senior involvement with the England hierachy?

I didn't know about Stokes...but just checked and you're right...it's fcuking annoying - 3rd Durham wicket fallen Arshad was due in according to card but have sent Richardson in before him so i assume Stokes not far away. All teams want to finish as high as possible with Middx playing their last game this week Bears had possibility of getting up to 3rd which conceivably may not happen now due to Rankin factor.
Durham 25-3 , raining at Headingley with Yorks 90-2. Still off at Edgbaston although not actually raining but light not good - thats 1/2 mile from ground. Haven't gone due to weather forecast!
