Can't complain too much about that result, considering the penalty they should have had.

Disagrees shouldn't have even been a free-kick!

Bloody hell that was the most obvious penalty I have seen this season!

Has the law changed of is it still DELIBERATE handball. Bounce happen close to Bennett and hands down only out for balance!

Just looked at Phsio room, we have 2nd highest number injured / out in the PL. Almost all are on the older side of the squad, Vlaar back for a start ASAP.

I suppose we should be grateful, we're utterly shit but still somehow managed to get a point.
Reading and Wigan losing is a bonus.
Utterly in the first half. Second half we started to move the ball around a little, like some of our better games this season.

Given that we have been caned so badly in the last three games we certainly should be grateful that, not only have we scored a couple of goals and won our first EPL penalty in 12 months, we have also taken a point from a difficult ground to visit.

Clark looked in tears at the end.  It's nice to see players give a shit.

Clark's defending often has me in tears, so swings and roundabouts.

Michu's scissors on Westwood should have been a red card - Swansea should have had several other cards as well - we got yellows for a lot less - Halsey as shit as usual, how I wish we never had him or Phil Dowd ever again

I hope the result doesnt paper over the fact that we did not want the ball and did not want to play football. nigh on every time we played 1 or 2 passes then twatted it long to Benteke to try and do something with. All of the early promise of Lamberts passing and possesion football appears to have evaporated and I dont know why...

Good point. Hope we have at least one new signing before Southampton.

I'm coming round to the draw, that would have been a right royal mugging after the first 35 mins when we were shite.

Point earnt.

Messi, Iniesta, Ronaldo & Xavi all boarding Ryan Air tonight to scout out digs in the Mailbox.....

Five wins and a few draws should see us safe now. In my view we have nine very winnable games left so surely we can win five of those and snatch a few good draws here and there.

Didn't watch the game, but followed the chatter on the match thread (when I could bear the tension).

Sounds like first half we were atrocious, second much better. It made me think, I am pretty sure that's very similar to the Liverpool match thread.

Anyway, poor as we may have been for long spells, by far the most important thing is that we got a point here, at least something to slow down (if not stop) the rot and begin to build confidence again.

I doubt there's a poster on here who wouldn't have taken a point before the start, so all in all, not a bad result at all.

Shame to concede right at the death, but they'll take confidence from that and that can only be a good thing. Well battled lads, showed character after an awful first twenty minutes, and in the end good result!

Gutted. The central defence won almost everything in the air all game and fought like lions, just a shame we let that last one in, I really thought Guzan should have done better.

Overall, ouplayed for 35 minutes before we decided to turn up. After that we fought for everything, closed down the space pressed them all over the pitch and with Benteke and Andi up front, always looked threatening. A hard fought point that I would have taken before the game.

Agree completely. The first third of the game seemed to be residue from the previous three, and yes we were lucky that we weren't behind by more. But we rode our luck and clutching at straws a bit here, won the rest of the game 2-1. I know that's a bit of a stretch but it's a small victory given recent events. The lads will be gutted but in reflection they'll take heart from this point.

Conflicting emotions.  After the utterly shambolic first half hour we could have been 5 down without complaint and thought we'd do well to keep the score respectable.  In light of that, a draw is a bonus, it just doesn't feel like it because of how it happened.

The equalising goal seemed to bring the belief back, and we were much better second half, arguably the better team.  We gave more support to Benteke and Weimann, who both did very well, and got them worried.

Much as I don't rate Clark, he and Herd did win an awful lot in the air second half.

Gunner Halsey wasn't giving us much, as usual, so I was amazed when he gave the pen, even though it looked plum.

I think Holman could have done better when he let the wide player waltz past him for the late goal.

3 points could have seen a bit of daylight between us and the drop spots but I guess we have to be thankful that we've stopped the rot and got a point at a difficult place to go.

Because for the most part our players aren't good enough to play that kind of football.

As gutted as I am not to get 3 points, hopefully that should give them back a bit of belief and confidence.  Onwards and upwards, keep the faith, UTV etc etc etc

Right we now have 11 days to the next league game. Surely that must be enough time to bring in a player or two and / or get some players back from the treatment table.

That Southampton game's gonna be huge!

I can't figure out what on earth team we're going to play away at Bradford / v Ipswich to be honest. Who plays in midfield? Bannan and Delph? Jesus
