Spizz was a regular at The Captains Locker in Solihull during the mid to late 70s and IIRC was a very good artist in the pop art style. Although he will always be linked to his most famous song 'Where's Captain Kirk? His tribute ' The Sun Never Sets on Aston Villa' is well worth a listen. Better folk than I on here will remember Spizzenergi and the marvellous but tragic Swell Maps as Solihulls contribution to the punk scene.

BC54 VFC: you've only missed one Man Utd home game since 1966?

What are you doing on here you plastic, glory-hunting twat?

*wink*

Ha ha, it does read a bit like that doesn't it!

That's the second time you've commented on a member of my family's post on this thread, but you were rather more complimentary to my younger son. Can you spot the statto tendencies that run in in the family?  ;)

I'm intrigued now. Who is your son? Glad I was complimentary anyway.

I took a few Everton fans to the Bolton game last year (where we won 1-2) and they said whilst we were very, very funny they'd never met a more pessimistic bunch of supporters in their lives. To be fair, we were singing "how shit must you be, we're winning away" and, when 2-0 up, "2-2, we're gonna draw 2-2".

Tis all jolly japes, following Villa away.

I fail to see how those types of chants inspire the team.  They may well rouse a chortle among the crowd and the opposition fans just might think the Villa fans are wags with their zany humour, but the Villa players on the pitch (if they hear it) must inwardly cringe.  It's hardly uplifting stuff for a team containing three or four youngsters.  It's all good, character building stuff, I suppose.

I doubt the players listen to each individual song when playing. If its a very loud 'Villa' or a clearly recognisable repeated rendition of 'Paul Lambert's etc' then of course they will notice it. But I wouldn't worry about them picking and choosing songs they like/ don't like. If they do hear them they're more likely to find them funny in the dressing room afterwards. As long as we've won obviously.

After speaking with him outside the Crabtree I've sent a request for him to join the Kingston Lions, his PA seemed enthusiastic.

He'll be replacing Chico Hamilton who, if I'm honest, brings nothing to the table.

Eff you and your Kingston Lions.

I'm off to form a splinter group, the much more alliterative "Lewisham Lions"

Sounds like a women's team Chico. Not that I've got anything against woman's teams or that, but they shouldn't be in football. Talking to a woman about football, or rather them talking to you, is like a bloke trying to understand a menstrual cycle. But, I don't want to appear misogynistic and I think it's fantastic that they actually got the vote.

Same here. I draw the line at letting them into pubs though.

I don't know. I've met some who've poured a cracking pint.

For the right fee I am prepared to join either group and can muster 7 million Chinese members if that helps.

You sound even more like him now.

Number 1 at the back and sides, short on the top and tapered at the back. And could you trim my eyebrows?
