I've only just heard the dreadful news. Absolutely tragic.  :(

I hope the fans and players give him a great display of respect and a result we can dedicate to his memory tomorrow.

Was that goal at Selhurst our best ever goal?  I'd say it probably is.

Talk on twitter of taking umbrellas in to VP (if allowed) tomorrow as a tribute...

I didn't think that umbrellas were allowed into VP

Not really sure why a 2014 tweet is relevant to last night but this is in the Birmingham Mail report

I don't know if this was even Dalian's Twitter account

Shocking news.

I recall somebody comparing him, when on form and up for it, to the Brazilian Ronaldo. He was so powerful, talented and I'm struggling to think of a player, not just a Villa player, that could hit a ball with so much power. On his day he was brilliant.

Really, really sad news. Thoughts are with his family and friends.

He was, without a shadow of a doubt absolutely top class on his day, alas he was also a tad lazy and never quite reached his full potential over an extended period of time. I'd also lump Carew into that category. Had everything needed to be one of the very best but for one reason or another never seemed to have the drive to really go for it.

That said, Dalian gave me so many happy memories in the 90's, and was a total joy to watch when he was fit and 'on it'

RIP Dalian, thanks for the memories son x

Remember these 2 v QPR. He was on fire that day and first goal was him switched on and 2nd one brilliant.

All the goals in that game were a bit special.

Great game - very fortunate to win 4-1. QPR had lots of the play

So they posted his last entry when he gave up twitter in 2014 and associate it with an accident last night. Great journalism as always.

He was emblematic of that team of new hope - anything could happen and often enough did.
