Shocking, horrendous news. Dalian will always have a special place in the pantheon of great Villa strikers.

Very sad, a really iconic player from the 90s era at the Villa. Great memories of him as a player.

Holte Ender in the Sky. Scorer of my all time favourite Aston Villa goal.

If this is true it's awful news. He's on the Villa site today as he scored that goal against Wimbledon on this day.

On this day?!

Yes mate. If you scroll down to the bottom of the Villa site, it's on there.

Shitting hell.  I'm shocked.  One of my favorites.  What a tragic loss.

No, it was the goal against Ipswich - our first in the Premier League.

RIP Big D. You were inconsistent in performance but when you were on it you were unstoppable. That goal against Wimbledon was around October-ish I thought. Along with Birchy one of the first players from my supporting years to die.

Terrible news, still consider him the most talented player I've ever seen for Villa, didn't always put a shift in but when he was on his game he was capable of magic.

RIP

I'm genuinely very upset by this.

That goal. Just that goal.
