As much as I'd like to see us win this game I don't think we will.

A good performance and a narrow 2-1 defeat I reckon.

I've got every league result prediction wrong so far this season, so I hope I'm wrong again!

Lambert said after the tranmere game that he hoped one or two of the injured players would be back for this game. I don't think he can be talking about gabby, albrighton or bent. Are vlaar, el ahmadi, delfouneso injured? I'd dread to think what might happen if the first two aren't playing! Is clark's suspension over now too?

Assuming we dont have more injuries, I'd go:

Guzan - Lowton vlaar baker lichaj - KEA delph - Ireland Holman - bent (weimann, CNZ, new fwd)

I think he may have been referring to Carruthers who's apparently been dealing with a knock on his ankle, and maybe he was hoping he could rush Gabby back for the game or something.

Unfortunately I think we could be pulled apart here defensively, a 3-1 defeat.

With their movement up fron then i think it is really important that we pair Baker with Ron - Clark is too slow and will cost us

PL has said that we will go to win and i believe him (unless he starts with Bent up top on his own again grrrrrrrrr)

Guzan (although he wont drop Given on his return "home")

Lichaj                      Ron                    Baker          Delph / Stevens

                                         Herd
KEH                                                                  Holman
                                        Ireland
                                        Weinmann
                                          Bent

A Newcastle win. We have a lot to do to knit this team together. Newcastle like Everton are a reasonably settled team and should have too much for us.
If Nzog or Ireland if put into the side decide that they want to play, we should make it a tight game. Bent can't be as isolated as he has been up front.
3-0 to the home team.

Guzan
Lowton Clark Vlaar Baker
Herd
ElAhmadi Ireland
Holman................................NZogbia
Bent

I'm expecting NZogbia to have a good game. I know, silly of me.

Sorry, can't see us getting much out of this.  I think we'll play better though and scrape a 1-1.

I'm slightly optimistically going for a 1-1 as well.

I think we need to play Vlaar and Baker together and one of Holman, Ireland or N'Zogbia to have a good game, but if that happens I think a draw is achievable.
